None of the initiating attacks can be considered self defense as they are literally assault and battery as in illegal actions. You will go to jail if you engage first.

Incorrect - there is no requirement under law to wait for an assault to be physical in nature prior to engaging. Furthermore the idea of a pre emotive strike is explicitly permitted under law once the balance of subjective and objective measures are met

@@aardvarkhendricks6555 Stand your ground laws (indeed Castle Doctrine) as based on that entire precept. However, since you asked and cannot accept that your view is categorically wrong....here you go; North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 14. Criminal Law § 14-51.3.(a) A person is justified in using force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that the conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other's imminent use of unlawful force. There are many, many other examples too, notwithstanding the fact that the US isn't the only country in the world either

@@HAVOCJKD Interesting. I'm open minded as long as there is evidence. I stand corrected. I would like to add that something about the "castle doctrine" doesn't seem right. I would think it would lead to grevious incidents over minor issues. Give me a chance at rebuttal.

@@HAVOCJKD Does the North Carolina law point to "castle doctrine" or is the assumption of imminent assault leading to deadly force applicable in all areas of life? From what I'm reading, castle doctrine only applies to being assaulted in your home or car and not in the streets where you have a legal requirement to retreat first.
