A few things you guys may have got wrong. The filter is 27 newton meters of torque. Roughly 17 foot pounds of torque. I didn't check the oil pan nut torque. The filter pushes on in the end of the filter cap via an interference type sleeve. It does not cut or screw on. The oil should be changed after the first 100 to 300 miles to remove assembly lubes/grease and remove small debris that comes off the motor during break in. Mine had a few tiny bits of aluminum. Most break in wear occurs during the first 100 miles of running from new. I also use a rare earth magnet on the end of my filter to catch any steel/iron particles in the oil.

Other extreme in Boston in my GTI on the worst days of winter sometimes I'd get all the way to work 10 miles and the oil didn't even get up to 180. In fact it started registering at 100 and it would be half way to work before I'd even get there. Got my stinger in March so it hasn't seen cold or hot yet. Thanks for the video looks like a bit of a pain to change the oil. GTI was easy no panel to take off and the oil filter was on top.

Just did my oil on my 2022 Elite up in Canada at 5900km; needed 6.75L of oil & took out around 5.5L. It's honestly easier to remove both covers under the car to get at everything. The chassis is still in the way of the oil drain hole lol so yup oil everywhere. Used Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 full synthetic oil as 5L jugs were on for $28 on Amazon. My catch can was about 1/3 full so not too bad. All in all very easy to change

If your raise the front up a little more than the back, using wood blocks, the oil will miss the cross member. I also had the oil fill cap completely off when I drained the oil. It worked for me. I have a Stinger GT AWD. Maybe that is why it worked for me. Great video.
@StingerGTandMe6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Gibson I doubt it because it's only a couple inches away. And the cars front was up in the air. The back was still on the ground. It's just poor design. Next oil change will be with my new quick jack hopefully so that should make for a way easier oil change.

StingerGTandMe I just did an oil change in my Stinger GT AWD. The oil missed the cross member by about an inch or more. Just trying to help out. I have a Stinger GT AWD. Maybe that is why the oil missed the cross member. I had the front up a few inches more than the back. Possibly you had the front up too high to miss the cross member. I also had the oil cap completely off when the oil drained so the oil came out smooth and steady. As a precaution I wrapped the cross member with aluminum foil in case if it did splash onto it, I would not have to wipe it down after. Your video really helped me when I went to do my oil change. Thank you.

pnm-wmb I can if it is requested enough. I don't honestly like jacking up the car the way that we did. There is a specific spot under each side of the car. It has the pinch welds. I think he said there 2x10. 4 of them screwed with around 5-6 screws per going into the board below.

what about it? doing your own oil change has no effect on warranty unless you did it completely wrong and use the wrong oil. No where in the manual does it say oil changes and services must be done by KIA dealership. Thanks for watching.

Sorry but your math is wrong (guy on the left NOT doing the oil change) . 0.29 quarts is NOT 9 ounces....it’s exactly 4.64 ounces. We’re talking about FLUID OUNCES not weight ounces. Not trying to be a dick but some people might take you incorrect conversion and end up overfilling their oil level. 7 quarts and 4.64 ounces is what you meant to say..... sorry for being a dick..... video wasn’t too bad though.
@captaingyro39124 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but your math is wrong Scott. A fluid quart is 32 ounces. 32 x .29 = 9.28. And I don't know what distinction you're trying to make between fluid ounces and weight ounces (in all-caps, no less) but if you're taking about water, the volume and weight are the same. There's an old saying, "A pint's a pound the world around". In other words, a pint of water (16 fluid ounces) weighs a pound (16 weight ounces).

Give me a break. You guys couldn't sound any more amateurish doing an oil change. Oh, it needs 7.29 qts. You sound like it's your first car and you've never worked on one before.This or any other general use street car is not that exacting on oil capacity. It's a 7 qt. change. There is at least .29 qts still left in the engine. You sound like you want to use an eye dropper the measure down to the drop. Come on guys, sound a little more like you know what you're doing.
@StingerGTandMe6 жыл бұрын
Try watching the whole video before you make dumb comments. 12:45 we mention this already. We already know you can't drain all the oil. Thanks for repeating something we already said though. 😂 The instructions say if you watched the car holds 8.1 quarts. You will drain 7.29 roughly .
@dennisweifenbach26476 жыл бұрын
I did watch the entire video. So you finally mentioned it, it took you "experts" forever to get to it. Making it sound like this was so confusing. It is a fairly nice car, but you need to sound like you know a little about what you are talking about. I'm sure the dip stick on this car is the same as most all other cars. It gives you a range of fill levels. So you look the next day of usage and verify where the fill lever settles. My statement stands, try to look more like you know what you are doing. changing the oil isn't the hardest thing to do.
