It literally started raining after my bands show (Waterscapes) it was in finals (though, since we're a small school, we obviously didn't place in finals) and so in my band, it's a joke that we "Won finals" since we were the only band to completely preform their entire show.

My high school marching band follows some of the traditions of the university in our town. Each year, the salutes change, but what's consistent about them is that both the HS's and university's salutes have a lean (like you're playing limbo) and a split-fall (at the end). It's really cool! Many of the really large Texas 4A groups will have 300+ kids covering the entire field end zone to end zone, and modern show design has multiple flanks constantly reversing from front field to back field meaning you need on-field conductors in every corner of the field at all times.
