What about if we had the nuna in the center and a booster behind the driver… Would that allow the passenger side to still fold?

We have the Nuna Pipa and want to know if we could do the same on a Lexus GX 460.

No - the Lexus GX will not accommodate this. Any car seat in the center of the GX is going to block the passenger seat from moving for 3rd row access. Also, the Pipa won't install securely in the center of the GX.

@@thecarseatlady1 I found that out the hard way before I saw your comment. The sales guy at Lexus and I tried so hard to get it tight, that we got my base stuck in the car. Belt's latch plate caught under the LATCH arm and then belt would only tighten. They had to take the car to service and take the seat apart. Now the Toyota Sequoia is a different story. Got the Pipa installed and retained third row access even without removing the actual car seat part.

Will this still work with 2 forward facing seats that use latch + tether? Running into issues finding a 3 row vehicle that allows easy access to 3rd row without captains chairs.

It will not. You need the Volkswagen Atlas or the 2018 Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator - all have 3 seats across the 2nd row and have a tipping feature for both side seats that allows 3rd row access without disturbing a LATCH installed car seat.

The Car Seat Lady how about the XC90. A seat in the middle and outboard. Should allow the 3rd seat to allow access?

Only with a few seats in the center will this work in the XC90. A rear-facing Clek (Foonf or Fllo), or a rear-facing infant seat (I know it works with the Cybex Aton2 & Chicco Fit2). Most other seats are too wide to allow the side seat to tilt & slide.

Can you elaborate on the plastic cup trick?

Take a plastic cup, cut out half the bottom of it, and before you buckle the seat belt, slip the latchplate (the male end) through the cup and then buckle the seat belt. The cup will serve as a hood over the buckle that will prevent you from pushing the red release button accidentally.

Can you have the Clek in the middle and still fold the seat?

If there is nothing on the driver's side, then a Clek in the middle usually lets the passenger side fold (sometimes with slight interference). If you have another seat installed on the driver's side, the car seat in the center is typically a smidge closer to the passenger side, just enough that the passenger seat won't fold.
