I am driving the Macan Turbo for 2 years now. I live in Abu Dhabi UAE. I don't think it needs more HP or Torque. There is plenty. What it needs however is less turbo lag ( i am very sensitive to this) and I wish it had the rear diff with torque vectoring. Coming out of turns, i feel it would do better with torque Vec. Could you please address these points? Thanks

Rachid Rezgui turbo lag on the S Diesel is pretty appalling too. Was not prepared because I was spoilt by my last 2 BMW's X6 4.0d and a 335d coupe.

Take it to a tuner with the specific task of reducing the turbo lag. They could install different turbos or smaller turbos (which will probably come at a slight horsepower loss, but with reduced lag as well). Chip tuning could help you as well by changing engine mapping. Possibly in combination with smaller turbos giving you similar horsepower output and less lag. Will obviously void warranty from the manufacturer. That is however only if the manufacturer ever finds out.

I own a Macan GTS and think it's the perfect all-around vehicle. Yes, it's a compromise, but that is easily forgotten once you drive it. The only thing that would make it better is more power. That being said, I prefer the subtle styling differences on the GTS vs. Turbo or Turbo PP. On a daily basis, I notice the looks more than I would the extra torque and hp given the amount of traffic congestion in the DC area.

I ordered a Macan S without sunroof and with PASM and am happy with that choice. It's got a piggy back ECU from a little known company in Germany. Response to throttle is much more immediate now, and you can see the added boost, provided you have good fuel, in the display.

I own a 2017 Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Pack. White with red leather interior, sport design package in black, black 21" wheels, burmester sound, etc... The power difference is immediate between the regular Turbo and especially the GTS. Anyone that says the GTS is the best one of the bunch has not driven the turbo or the turbo perf pack. The perf pack is essentially a GTS with way more power

I think the best way to address this "performance pack" is to consider it as a mid-life option uplift as the X50/X51 kits for the 911 have been in the past. The Macan refresh will just see this become the base Turbo of the future surely. I just think the marketing dept overruled the geeky nomenclature of Xnn of the past ...

Well, that's a tough question. The Cayenne does have the Turbo and the Turbo S. That begs the question, should this be a Macan Turbo S vs Turbo w Performance Package? To make it a differentiating model, it should have more than just extra power. Heck, a Cobb tune can squeeze another 100hp out of a Macan GTS. Yes I am a Porsche driver of a couple of special models, and a special Volvo...

They should have just called it the Turbo S. I own a Macan Turbo and love it. PS Moto Man, the 175 speedo is standard in the base and S. The 190 MPH speedometer has always been standard issue on the normal turbo Macan. Also the air boxes are the same as on my turbo.

I never understood why car manufacturers put speedometers in their cars that had much higher numbers than the cars could actually drive. Like in this Macan Turbo that Porsche says will top out at 169 mph. Why put a 190 mph speedometer in it?

Ryan Lange the vehicles are speed limited by computer parameters, it's not that the vehicle isn't capable of achieving those speeds, just that the computers don't allow it to do so.

I drive 2017 Cayenne Turbo and 2017 Carrera 911 GTS (7-speed). Had a Macan Turbo, and its performance prompted me to get the Cayenne Turbo. Looking forward to see if the performance pkg is worth the trouble. Expect list around $116K.

I just bought a Porsche Macan Turbo (not PP). And I had it tuned for an extra 100hp for about $1500. I think way better a deal than buying the PP. They don't call it a Turbo S because they reserve that distinction for cars with standard Carbon Brakes

This was optioned by a genius. No easy access so your car won’t get stolen by hackers (seriously) and no sunroof for less weight up top plus if you live in the south you don’t want any more sun in your car. I think the only crazy thing is it’s not optioned with sports chrono, the manetino switch is missing from the wheel

At his Porsche driving school I had the honor of sitting in the passenger seat of his GT3 for a few laps. I learned more about smooth manual shifting (he shifts like a PDK) than I ever imagined possible.

Best value is the GTS ,I have one .I also prefer the GTS look.Hard to justify the cost increase for the extra horsepower that you will rarely use in this vehicle .Alfa Romeo Stelvio will have a 500 hp version at a more attractive price point .I think anybody that pays up for the PP expects at least some distinctive exterior badging to say "Hey,I'm faster than a standard Turbo"!The Porsche dealer told me there is a decent chance for a 2019 Macan Turbo S .

Carbon ceramic brakes are useless for a street car and arguably worse than traditional steel rotors in daily driving. They only really benefit the driver on a track and let's be honest, .0001% of Macan buyers will actually take their sport CUV to the track.
