That is a great question! Honestly... yes, there are times when I wish I had a street glide. I have been eye balling the Gun Ship Grey CVO for some time now! A fairing would be nice when doing big chunks of highway miles... a Nav system would be good when navigating the unknown. At the end of the day I am still happy with the Road King. My detachable windshield works like a charm and who needs a nav system when you have buddies who know where they are going!

Hi Mack - could you please tell me whether you needed to change the clamp or have it adapted - as I thought the Signature was primarily for Road Glides that had the 1.25” clamp, whereas I thought the RKS has a 1” clamp? (or did I get that wrong)? (The Factory 47 site proposes the Malo rather than the Signature for the RKS). Cheers

I've been looking at trading my 09 Dyna for a bagger, and the Road King is moving up the list. At 6'6, it would either be one of these, or a Road Glide. What made you go RK instead of a fairing bike.
@MacksMoto6 жыл бұрын
I have never really ridden a fairing bike. I have ridden bikes with windshields and my personal preference is to go without except for really long distances. I don't need fairing speakers or nav because I bluetooth all that stuff to my helmet. I was really surprised how much the 23 wheel upfront affected my seat height, took me from flat footing to almost balls of my feet. As a taller guy, you may be into that in combination with some apes. A stock road king feels straight up tiny coming from my bike.

Hector Carranza great question man! Yes, I have been thinking about it pretty seriously. I just upgraded the exhaust to a true dual system (vid coming soon) which has a bit of a horse power bias. I think I would probably do a stage 3 to balance that out a bit.

@timmurphy28256 жыл бұрын
Clean bike! Like the handlebars and front end mods. The M8 is awesome! Do a Stage 2 next with torque cam and you are set. The touring chassis is great for long distance. Don't be surprised if you end up doing 200, 400 & even 600 miles a day. Just having the fairing (Street Glike/Road Glide/Utimate Classic, etc) on these types of touring models helps with wind fatigue especially at interstate speeds so you may want to invest in a shield later. I also leave the heal/toe shift on these types of bikes but never use the heal. When you do the Dragon, gears 2 & 3 work best and you are going to be dealing with 900lbs through those tight curves and its a workout. There is a guy 'Ride like a Pro' who put out a video on riding these big bikes through the Dragon so you don't freak when scraping the floor boards. Enjoy & See you on the road.
@MacksMoto6 жыл бұрын
Tim Murphy thanks man! That is some good word on the torque cam. I am seriously considering that. I just did a stage 1 with bassani true duals and DNT megaphones. I have some comparison footage I hope to put out soon. Stay in touch Tim

Word! I rock a wind splitter for longer highway trips. It means adjusting the bars a little when I use it but it only takes a sec.
@elyeyi3695 жыл бұрын
@@MacksMoto thats one of the main selling points for me is the bare look, no fairing. I was thinking a wind splitter but i also like blasting music. You think a fairing add on would be practical? I feel like at that point i might as well pick up a street glide cuz they are very similar in terms of the style for that year. And hows the ride ? They say the shorter rear shock makes it a little rougher compared to the other touring bikes for that year
@MacksMoto5 жыл бұрын
@@elyeyi369 I guess my butt just isn't that sensitive... I have ridden street glides and really couldn't tell an difference in ride quality on account of the shocks :) I have never had one of those detachable fairings but seems like that could be cool. Not sure how speakers would work in that case.

Thanks, I was planning on getting factory 47 but they told me I had to replace riser and control clamps. I was wandering which style of Factory47 were those.

Congrats. Nice bike. Road King is a great bike and good channel. Being a realtor you are busy, glad you had time to ride. I am in North Texas. If you get time check out my channel.

Im trying to upgrade my harley for a bigger one but im 5’7 and im between road king and the fat boy but i like road king alot do u think i can use a lowering kit ?
@MacksMoto6 жыл бұрын
Sergio Morales you should ride em both, for sure. I don't have any experience with lowering kits. If I was any shorter I would be on the balls of my feet (sometimes am now depending on road). I believe the fat boy has a stock seat height about .5" lower.

Thanks man! I remember when you got it :) Watching videos of you and Joker running around was one of the first reasons I got into making videos at all.

Not my idea of a Road king. Where’s the traditional old school look gone, with all the chrome, passing lamps,chunky headlight and front front end. Powder coating a bike should be left to other models. Keep the traditional look HD.

Indigenous Patriot they still make those.

Don’t get the road king special and get the non special model.
