Killer customized Road King Special! That new front end (bars and wheels) make the bike! I also too almost bought a 2018 vivid black one after I demoed it back in Nov but after also demoing the 2018 FLHCS 114 I ended up getting it in vivid black. We both now can just strap in and enjoy the ride and doing the next customized thing to our baby's. Be safe.

Nice. Just the front fender change alone makes the RK look better. The floorboards are far enough forward for me but they raise them up too high for clearance. Nothing fits like the Fat Bob Dyna.

Mack I'm looking at the same bike and I love the handle bar set up. Did the dealer install the bars? if so did you have to get new lines Brake/Clutch or was there enough slack in them for thr 14"s. Also how much did the dealer charge for install?

Have u ever wished u bought a street glide or are you still happy with the road king ?
@RealEstateMack
@RealEstateMack 5 жыл бұрын
That is a great question! Honestly... yes, there are times when I wish I had a street glide. I have been eye balling the Gun Ship Grey CVO for some time now! A fairing would be nice when doing big chunks of highway miles... a Nav system would be good when navigating the unknown. At the end of the day I am still happy with the Road King. My detachable windshield works like a charm and who needs a nav system when you have buddies who know where they are going!

Hi Mack - could you please tell me whether you needed to change the clamp or have it adapted - as I thought the Signature was primarily for Road Glides that had the 1.25” clamp, whereas I thought the RKS has a 1” clamp? (or did I get that wrong)? (The Factory 47 site proposes the Malo rather than the Signature for the RKS). Cheers

I've been looking at trading my 09 Dyna for a bagger, and the Road King is moving up the list. At 6'6, it would either be one of these, or a Road Glide. What made you go RK instead of a fairing bike.
@MacksMoto
@MacksMoto 6 жыл бұрын
I have never really ridden a fairing bike. I have ridden bikes with windshields and my personal preference is to go without except for really long distances. I don't need fairing speakers or nav because I bluetooth all that stuff to my helmet. I was really surprised how much the 23 wheel upfront affected my seat height, took me from flat footing to almost balls of my feet. As a taller guy, you may be into that in combination with some apes. A stock road king feels straight up tiny coming from my bike.

@MacksMoto 6 жыл бұрын
Hector Carranza great question man! Yes, I have been thinking about it pretty seriously. I just upgraded the exhaust to a true dual system (vid coming soon) which has a bit of a horse power bias. I think I would probably do a stage 3 to balance that out a bit.

Clean bike! Like the handlebars and front end mods. The M8 is awesome! Do a Stage 2 next with torque cam and you are set. The touring chassis is great for long distance. Don't be surprised if you end up doing 200, 400 & even 600 miles a day. Just having the fairing (Street Glike/Road Glide/Utimate Classic, etc) on these types of touring models helps with wind fatigue especially at interstate speeds so you may want to invest in a shield later. I also leave the heal/toe shift on these types of bikes but never use the heal. When you do the Dragon, gears 2 & 3 work best and you are going to be dealing with 900lbs through those tight curves and its a workout. There is a guy 'Ride like a Pro' who put out a video on riding these big bikes through the Dragon so you don't freak when scraping the floor boards. Enjoy & See you on the road.
@MacksMoto
@MacksMoto 6 жыл бұрын
Tim Murphy thanks man! That is some good word on the torque cam. I am seriously considering that. I just did a stage 1 with bassani true duals and DNT megaphones. I have some comparison footage I hope to put out soon. Stay in touch Tim

@elyeyi369
@elyeyi369 5 жыл бұрын
@@MacksMoto thats one of the main selling points for me is the bare look, no fairing. I was thinking a wind splitter but i also like blasting music. You think a fairing add on would be practical? I feel like at that point i might as well pick up a street glide cuz they are very similar in terms of the style for that year. And hows the ride ? They say the shorter rear shock makes it a little rougher compared to the other touring bikes for that year
@MacksMoto
@MacksMoto 5 жыл бұрын
@@elyeyi369 I guess my butt just isn't that sensitive... I have ridden street glides and really couldn't tell an difference in ride quality on account of the shocks :) I have never had one of those detachable fairings but seems like that could be cool. Not sure how speakers would work in that case.

Hey man I'm 20 years old and 5'6, 76kg and i wanna own this bike am i too young? I can handle the power it's not a hayabusa so I'm sure i can handle it? Right?
@MacksMoto
@MacksMoto 6 жыл бұрын
Yo Adrian! Yeah, if you are used to riding a Hayabusa the M8 power is going to feel really smooth and totally manageable. The Road King Special is a couple hundred pounds heavier so low speed maneuvering is going to feel really different. The seat height is about 26 inches on the RK as opposed to the 31 inches from a Hyabusa. I remember feeling like I was a little short for the Road King coming from my dyna but it sounds like you should be good.

Mack's Moto no man I've never ridden a hayabusa what I mean was I can control 150 nm of torque it isn't 200 HP like the hayabusa, I'm used to riding a KTM 390 it's very tall 830mm seat height and I can pretty much flat foot this cruiser I guess

Did you ever consider getting a Street Glide Special? Torn between a RKS and SGS. I feel that if I buy anything else other than a SGS that I would eventually end up with one anyway. So, do I get the bike with the classic minimalist look or do I opt for the fix fairing and infotainment system? You seem very intelligent and Meticulous in your videos so I just wanted to get your feedback on my Insignificant dilemma. Thank you.

@@finao8231 Roger that! My first bike was a Dyna Fat bob.... no bags, no fairing. I rode for a couple years with a back pack and got used to nav and jamming tunes via my blue tooth com unit in my full face helmet. From a functional standpoint, the upgrade to the RKS was all about increased comfort for my wife and multi day long distance trips. HOWEVER, I was riding every day around town and didn't want a fairing infront of me all the time. I didn't need the speakers and nav was already running from my phone. That AND the fact that my wife doesn't like the look of fairing bikes :) She was in my corner when it came time to pull the trigger and that is a big deal. I do still drool over the street glides from time to time and came preeeeety close jumping on a CVO last year

Sergio Morales you should ride em both, for sure. I don't have any experience with lowering kits. If I was any shorter I would be on the balls of my feet (sometimes am now depending on road). I believe the fat boy has a stock seat height about .5" lower.

Not my idea of a Road king. Where’s the traditional old school look gone, with all the chrome, passing lamps,chunky headlight and front front end. Powder coating a bike should be left to other models. Keep the traditional look HD.
