He was great in 2018, but terrible in 2019 - until the WC final.

@@matthewvanrensburg3824 LOL not really. Willie is a little bit like Quade Cooper inasmuch as he can win you a game, but can just as easily lose you a game. When he is having a bad run of form, he can cost us plenty and I was one of those people calling for him to be replaced in the final. I am happy to report that I was wrong.

I think they got the selection right at RWC. Lukhanyo was quietly immense throughout the tournament and a him and de Allende formed a great combination.

@@Karma-qt4ji i have to agree with you there.. they paired really well. I prefer Jesse at wing rather than centre though, but then again, I cant fault Mapimpi - so ya you right. The depth is a good problem to have.

No place for Kriel, the backline was fine. Maybe fullback but I'm against shuffling players around. He hasn't played FB in ages.

@@RRSmurf he was second pick after Aphiwe (before the doping incident) Jesse got injured in the opening match against NZ and that gave way for Mapimpi. Backline was fine yes but mos def not the intended plan going into world cup.
