With the size and shape of your room, you might want to consider moving your sub against the back wall facing the wall and reversing the polarity. You might get more accurate low end when you're mixing.

I also do audio and video (terribly so) on a mac. I wouldn't go back to Windows for anything but gaming. If I could afford that mac pro I would buy it in a heartbeat. I'm with you 100%. Windows fanboys usually have never used a mac for any serious amount of time. I know cause I used to be one.

I love these vids. I've been regularly watching you for years now man, and it's been amazingly inspirational seeing how much you've accomplished. Gear envy level just went to plaid. Ludicrous speed. That OR100 dude. Matt from HUM had a vintage one in his studio that sounds absolutely amazing. Put that thing in the UA OX and just hand me a feeding tube. I think the "cheapest guitar" video rocked because it honestly touched at & poked fun of misconceptions and attitudes that seem to perpetuate about gear online & in general. You should do some more affordable guitar demos, or a mod series. It would be interesting. I picked up a $200 Squier Affinity Jazzmaster months back on a whim, immediately put Grovers on it thinking it was just going to be a kick around shit plank, and was actually surprised. I absolutely love the stupid thing. Anyway... Get well soon bro. Peace

Hey brotha, hope you’re making a speedy recovery from your surgery. Anyway, question for ya. Have you thought about investing in a camera motion stabilizer? Maybe you probably don’t really need it but I noticed some shakiness in the video 16 mins in when you were showing off the good ol’ amp collection. I figured, “hey, why not ask, maybe he just hasn’t thought of it because he doesn’t do a whole lot of moving shots. 🤷🏻♂️” Anyway, sorry if that comes off as super douchey. Lol. I’ve been watching you for a few years now and I’m a huge fan of your work. Watching you has made learning about audio engineering/video production a lot easier. Love ya man. 🤘🏼 Cheers.

dude i've been diehard windows for years and a PC tech for 20, but if i could afford a mac for audio production i wouldn't even think twice about buying one.
@professorchaos91716 жыл бұрын
Kewl Beans you could build a PC and run windows OS. Problem solved.
@nope1106 жыл бұрын
Your a pc tech, but youve not heard of hackintosh?
@alexfraley6 жыл бұрын
There is zero reason to buy a mac for audio production these days unless you're already invested in the platform(Logic). There's no longer a hardware or software advantage to using Mac. You can build or buy a PC for half the cost with the same specs and support on pro tools and ableton is better on PC vs a Mac.
@seangriffey86696 жыл бұрын
I'm not one of those guys that will constantly shit on apple, if people like something I would begrudge them that. That being said I would warn you that the past several years compatibility with music gear has been getting worse, artists are producers are using old operating systems to avoid this issue. Music production guys are often using either old macs or new PCs that they build themselves.
@jonnyreid78236 жыл бұрын
Gordon Fraley can’t agree more. If you’re not already deeply invested in logic, hopping on a decently built PC and grabbing pro tools is 100% the way to go. Wish I could go back 😩. I still might.

Do you not use the outboard compressors because you're using the UAD plugins? Or what is the reason for not using them.

Also, when micing cabs to be recorded, where do you put them in the room? Or do you not do that anymore and it’s all about the two notes?

Awesome studio but I don't know if it's a good idea to put the Mac and harddrives on the subwoofer because it vibrates
