Brother, today my wife called me saying that my Escalade wouldn't start but it had full power so I left work early trying to figure out the issue. I tried it out then figured the battery may not have enough voltage so I pulled it and took it to O'Reilly's for a charge. They said it was 100% good and needed no charge so I went back to where the car stayed. Stranded put the battery back in and was breaking my head trying to start it. Watched this video and immediately after seeing what you did I did the same thing and the Escalade starts perfectly with zero issues. Thank you so much brother. I guarantee you had I taken it to the dealership they would have turned my pockets inside out.

I am a professional chauffeur, regularly pushing my 2019 Suburban beyond the 265,000-mile mark. Yesterday, after a trip to Ithaca, NY, my car refused to start upon returning home to Maryland. Panic set in until I stumbled upon this review. The troubleshooting tips provided here not only saved me from a potential towing nightmare but also got my Suburban running smoothly again. As a chauffeur, time is of the essence, and this review was a game-changer. Thank you for the invaluable help!

Thanks for the tips. A lot of comments on here that it’s fuse #36. It didn’t work for me, but after watching a guy pull off the passenger tire and wheel well cover, you can get right into the electrical connections of the starter. Pulled off the battery wire, contact cleaned the post and wire terminal, then bolted it back on. 2018 Tahoe started right up without having to pull the starter.

Worked on my 2015 Tahoe. All lights and radio was working but wouldn’t crank at all so I knew it probably wasn’t the battery, pulled the #36 fuse and put it back and it fires right up now. Thank you for sharing this video!

Happened again and the fuse thing didn’t work this time. So I got underneath and messed with the starter wires and tapped on the starter with a ratchet and that actually worked and it’s been starting ever since. Im thinking the starter is getting hung up every once in awhile.

Thanks for the tip. Just had the same issue on a 2018 Suburban Premier with Remote Start. It had recently come back from the body shop after an "involuntary deer hunt" (impact at front right corner). So my first thought was that the problem was related to the collision or repair. Remote start might have added an additional point of failure. I felt several fuses that were a little loose as you described. I pushed them all in and it started right up. You just saved me a lot of time and trouble, my friend. Thanks again for the video.

Had a weird issue with my 2015 Tahoe. I would get the single click and then nothing, but as soon as I would let off the key, it would crank and start normally. Battery voltage tested fine and the alternator was putting out 13.9-14.6V depending on system load. So the delayed start issues was baffling me. I was preparing to pull the starter. Found this video and went out to check my fuse panel. Sure enough, all fuses were not completely seated. Pushed them in and attempted to start the Tahoe again. Strong inmediate start! It appears to have fixed my delayed start issue!

I just had the same issue happen to me!! 2018 Tahoe 4WD LT. Wouldn't crank, but definitely not the battery (confirmed voltage, and trying to jump start wouldn't result in any starter engagement attempt). The fuses I had to push in were different though. I started with the ones that you showed in the video inside the passenger compartment (left/driver side of dashboard). I pushed all those in (they only go in a tiny amount--maybe 1/16", and takes a fair amount of force to get them to unseat from their worn-in position), but still no crank. So, I proceeded to look under the hood for the group normally located there. On the driver's side fender, there's a large fuse box (release catches are on the forward-facing side). I did half of the box toward the rear side of the vehicle--still nothing. Then I pushed another batch in (the ones on the front-of-truck side and toward the center of the truck), and it started!!! I was hoping to figure out exactly which one it was by having GF hold the key in the run position, but was concerned that might engage something longer than it should be engaged. So, I had her just check it after I pressed in a group of fuses. So, in my case it was something in a different fuse panel, but still solved the problem. Thank you sooooo much!!!!

I have a2018 tahoe with push to start. I thought I couldn't start my truck thinking it was because of my afm disabler so I took it out. Then I thought it wouldn't start because of my remote batteries so I changed them both. Then when it wouldn't start I changed from one key fob to another and now after seeing this video I said I'll check before I take the starter out and surely enough the fuses were kinda loose and not fully seated in there spots. I didn't see the number/spot for starter relay because I think that is under the hood but hopefully that is the reason I was having trouble starting my truck at random times. This has been going on for a few months and I believe if it was the starter it would have finally died by now and not restart after handful of attempts. I'll update my comment if starter ends up being the culprit or something else. Thanks for the video. I will see if my dad has that issue with his fuses. He recently changed out his starter.

Just tried this yesterday we will see if this helps intermittent no start issue on my 2018 Tahoe 5.3L LS. It seemed like fuse were kinda loose its hard to explain but pushed on all of them to make sure fuse pins were making full contact. I do live in a dirt road area so lots of weird road vibrations, bumps, potholes that could make fuses wiggle out over time which seems like GM would have tested something like this. We will see. @Big Al, my battery tested good as well. Your starter may also test good , mine did just before i replaced it several months after making this video. Thanks for the tip, unfortunately it didn’t help with my 2015 Chevy Silverado.. this is the second time it’s happened to my truck. The issue periodically happens, sometimes it will start on the 10th crank and sometimes on the 100th crank. I naturally assumed the starter was the issue, I did a few quick tests while it was in the vehicle, it tested fine, checked all the fuses and relays, everything checked out fine, tested the ignition, it tested fine. Battery is brand new and fully charged. I then removed the starter and bench tested it, it checked out fine, before reinstalling the starter I cleaned up all grounds and power connections and applied Dielectric grease to all the connectors. After doing all of this my truck fired right up with no hiccups. that was 6-8months ago. unfortunately the issue has returned. Before I jumped into taking everything apart I did some research to see if anyone else has figured out what the actual issue is as well as a permanent fix for the this annoying problem, there doesn’t seem to be one quick fix for this headache. I’ve gone ahead and tested my starter again while it’s in the truck, it tested out good, I’ve tested out my ignition again, it tests good, I’ve gone through all my fuses and relays again, they all test good, I’ve pulled out the started and bench tested it again, it tested good. I cleaned up all the grounds and connections again and reinstalled the starter! Unfortunately it didn’t work this time around. I’ve gone through all the relays and fuses under the hood as well as the fuse panel on the drivers side, including the inside and undersides of the fuse panels to check for any sort of corrosion, everything is spotless and tightly sealed! There is a run crank fuse behind the driver side interior fuse panel that apparently sometimes gets corroded according to another gentleman’s KZbin video, I’m assuming that when you pushed in the fuses it completed circuit or allowed a little extra juice to to run through the circuit. There is also a spliced wire in the main harness under the driver side kick panel/sill that apparently people have issues with as well according to another persons KZbin video. Like I’ve said I’ve gone through everything that I can think of as well as Tried out some suggestions from people like yourself on KZbin. I’m all out of options now so I’ve decided to order up a new starter, the last thing I wanted to do was throw parts at my truck. The scanner still isn’t pulling up any codes and I’m tired of banging my head against the wall. After going through the comments on your video, there’s a couple other things that I can check out but to be honest they seem like a long shot, but just to be safe I will go through all the suggestions! Thanks again!

@JoJo, hello Joe so if you read thru the comments you might read that i did end up replacing my starter. Ypur story is much like my story with not wanting to just throw parts at the truck. The final test i did was simply testing the signal wire on the starter when the problem finally came back. Every time i turn the key there was power, so i tapped on the solenoid and i could see sparks under the plastic housing. In my opinion the solnoid is a pos. Mine i could move with my hand genuine gm parts. I hope this settles your mind about the new starter. Thanks for watching and commenting. Mike - Plus8Precision

@@Plus8Precision, I did see your comment on pushing the fuses in was a temp fix and you wound up replacing the starter. There are many reasons to this no crank no start issue, I also read in another comment from some else that it was their back up safety sensor on the rear bumper, there is also another video claiming that it has something to do with the onstar system putting the vehicle in theft mode. I went through absolutely every scenario. Even with the starter testing good in the vehicle and on the bench, I replaced the starter and it fired right up, fingers crossed that it was actually the starter. My comment listed off most of not all of the issues that I could find on the internet In hopes that it’ll help someone else and point them in a direction and help them out. I appreciate your reply

When you buy replacement fuse blocks (Dodge TIPM comes to mind) fuses and relay's are not fully seated, just like yours. Maybe it's like that when they are assembled too.
@Plus8Precision3 жыл бұрын
Hello Bart, thanks for the info that's what I think is going on. It's something in their assembly process. I have never bought or used an aftermarket fuse block so I didn't know they came that way. Do they come that way for a reason safety maybe? Thanks for watching and commenting... Mike - Plus8Precision

@@Plus8Precision I sure doubt there's a reason. I just know there are a lot of comebacks or box returns because of it.

Had this happen (no crank/start, one click only) on my 2019 suburban Turned out it was because I was on a hill (just a slight incline) and it triggered a safety of some sort when i parked. Had to force it into neutral (it was stuck), roll back a couple inches, park again, then it started. Figured I'd share in case it helps someone. I'd parked on steeper hills daily, we live on a mountain, yet the slight incline at a Subway parking lot triggered it. Maybe I slammed it into park and took my foot off the break too fast, I'll never know.

@Plus8Precision2 жыл бұрын
Hello Gregory, in my case gm sent the onstar roadside assist tech out and they didn't find anything. I didn't figure this till a day later after checking the ground behind the right front wheel well cover. I just would get the click and then nothing just silence when you turned the key. So I checked the fuses even though I didn't think any were blown. And that when I noticed they were not seated. I have never heard anything from Chevy so if their aware they are playing stupid!
