@@MaxSujyReact You can see her in action here (in 2016, with her back to the camera). An amazing young woman. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYG0h3ilbclpgJo This is from the band's annual appearance at a German-themed tourist attraction. Even at an informal event like this, their choreography is always meticulous. The youngsters walking behind the band elsewhere in the video are the new band members, who have only been in the school for 2 weeks, yet just a few weeks later they will be performing in public as part of the band.

It is so nice to see your reaction. Looks like youre not familiar to the band (yet). They are from Kyoto. The SHS is three years. So they are in the band for three years. Every year one group leaves after graduation and a new class comes in. When they go to the US there are 6 casses. Three still in SHS and three classes who were there before. In front are the DM of the last 3 and coming 2 years. So they are all students there or were from the last 3 years. You should search some more videos of them. They are great in marching, playing on stage, doing exercise in halls. Bye from the Netherlands

How odd! You are reacting to the same video as another couple yesterday. To answer your questions, this is the Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School brass band. Normally it is composed of about 100 students. For this performance, they were joined by a similar number of alumni. The event is called the Rose Parade and is very popular in the US. It is held on New Year’s Day; this one was in 2018. The guy in black was the band’s Marching Coach, who acted as Drum Major for this parade. The kids don’t have “genetic lungs”! They just practise an incredible amount. They marched in the same energetic way for 8.9 kms. Although not visible here, as mentioned by others one of the students, a flautist, has a prosthetic leg. Yet she danced and played just like her teammates. The band is in fact an extracurricular school club, run by the students themselves who develop their own choreography. Even better views of them will appear if you paste [ 京都橘高等学校吹奏楽部 Kyoto Tachibana ] into your browser. This video is of the band in their normal environment, taking their music to their community (the flautist referred to previously can be seen at 7:47, last row, furthest from the viewer): kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIetZHulbZh-qck

This is actually the Festival of Roses Parade, commonly called The Rose Parade. This happens every New Years morning in Pasadena, California, The Rose Bowl football game follows in the evening. The Rose Parade has been going since 1890 and the Rose Bowl since 1902.

The full info: "The Rose Parade, also known as the Tournament of Roses Parade (or simply the Tournament of Roses), is an annual parade to mark the start of the Rose Bowl Game, held mostly along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, on New Year's Day (or on Monday, January 2 if New Year's Day falls on a Sunday). Produced by the non-profit Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, the parade usually starts at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-8), and includes flower-covered floats, marching bands, and equestrian units. The parade is followed in the afternoon by the Rose Bowl, one of the major bowl games in college football. "

Hi Max & Sujy Reacts. Well, I'm glad that you have discovered K.T.S.H.S.B.B.C. and their march in the Tournament of Roses Parade of rose covered floats. For a different perspective and some close up views. Here's a compilation of two " Fire Ball "s. One taken at the beginning of the march. The first performance and the second after the corner was turned onto Colorado Street; which you have seen and reacted too. This video offers a few close ups. Came here immediately after watching the Danish "Nielsen's TV "reaction to the Orange Devils.Strangely, neither The Nielsens nor Max & Sujy had ever heard of the Band (Really??) and coincidentally they both reacted to the same clip from the Rose Parade 2018. Given the huge number of videos available it's curious that they both chose one which did the band no favours;at the start ,not only can you not hear the Band,but you can't really see them either! Hopefully both the Danes and the Canadians were impressed enough to check out more of the many Tachibana videos and they might react again to "The World's Favourite Marching Band".

Unless you are already a fan of marching band, I don't know how you are suppose to know about them. I knew marching band existed, obv, but I could not name any group. And the reason why we started with this one is an algorithm reason. You would not have found us through "Nielsen Tv" if we had started with a performance that no one have reacted to. It's the sad reality of KZbin, reactor get found when they help each other through similar video selection. We are often the first foreign reactor to react to a particular Japanese singer, and then days and weeks after 20 more reactor seeing our views count do the same reaction, but a lot of the time we try a new singer and views count is not too great so other reactor don't do it. It's the danger of being the first, it's high risk high reward.

@@MaxSujyReact Hey M&S,apologies if you took my comment as a personal criticism - far from it! My point was that there are so many Brilliant videos of this 2018 Parade (one uploader has even compiled a video which follows The Band the entire 5 and a half miles of the Parade if you have a couple of hours to spare!) that showcase these Amazing "Kids" much better than this one.Obviously you were not to know that - But now you do,I look forward to more of your reactions to this STELLAR BAND!!! @@jaycooper2624 Oh no, I didn't take it as a personal criticism. We get that type of question a lot (choice of video), and there is things like Copyright, length of the video, and what other reactor have done that we need to consider. Thank you for your support :)

Good day from Japan! The girls practice before and after classes everyday and on week ends, but actually their high school does have a tough curriculum!! Actually ta chan! is only meaning "cute" in Japanese in this case! Their nickname is "Orange Devils" Even so, they have won only a few of the yearly National competitions! In the same vein I would recommend the following Taiko/Japanese Drum, the Hiryuu High School Taiko Band (coed) in Shizuoka Prefecturewhere I live! kzbin.info/www/bejne/g37Jd4N5mJyirq8 Another magic moment! How and how many times did they rehearse?
@FuelrIce3 жыл бұрын
They rehearse pretty much constantly. Unlike American high-school marching bands, they are an after-school club, run by the students themselves with a faculty advisor. Some start from scratch when they enter high school, even. So they have to practice every chance they get even to be merely competent, let alone as good as they are by the time we see them. These kids are awesome examples of hard work and major dedication. I was a bandsman myself from 5th grade thru college here in the US, so I know much of what they're having to do -- but we didn't have to teach ourselves like they did. We were lucky enough to have actual band directors to teach us how to play our instruments, march, and all the myriad other things that these kids had to learn mostly from their upperclassmen and on their own. Kudos to Tachibana, and in fact to the other high-school bands in Japan as well, for a level of dedication that most bandsmen here would only see in our nightmares. ;)
