I heard mention of Wyoming Syminary which is a private prestigious high school near Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa. I went to watch the boys wrestle because they are always top 5 in the country. Suddenly I started watching the girls go against the Canadian female all-star team. I was amazed how the Sem girls destroyed the Canadian all-star team. It was unbelievable how great their technique and conditioning was out there. Hats off to the coaching over there. I wish they had women's wrestling when my daughters were in school. Me: 3x AAA state champion '78-'80.

Women's wrestling, especially the lighter weight classes is by far the most exciting to watch for me. (I may be biased though, my daughter wrestles at 48kg)

Not sure if you mean wrestling rules in general are hard to follow, or if you just mean you don't understand freestyle when compared to folk. My explanation here assumes the former, so excuse me if it appears I'm being condescending with the explanation -- that is not my intent. Part of what may have made it difficult to follow was the ref made a mistake towards the end that was corrected by the table judges. Otherwise, in this match, all of the points scored were 2 pointers for a takedown where the opponent landed belly down. Any delay you may have seen in counting those points was just the ref waiting for the top wrestler to clear the arms and get behind the bottom wrestler for a control position. The "technical superiority" part the announcer jumped the gun on was the right call, and it just means as soon as she was up by 10 points, what is essentially a mercy rule kicks in and the match is automatically over.

Limited skill, even at that level. Does no one ever sprawl anymore? Balance is off. What the f-- are the coaches working on nowadays? Really makes me appreciate the coaching and clinics I attended in my experience. Comment section is full of ignorant non-wrestlers. Lusting after these girls.......good f-n grief!!!!!!!

@@brindlebriar In general, any reason that is based on a woman's physical appearance without any respect or recognition given to their athleticism and hard work/ dedication to the sport is demeaning. There's nothing wrong with finding someone attractive, but if your only reason for watching her compete is because you find her attractive, you aren't respecting and acknowledging her as an athlete. The whole reason she's there competing (and being recorded in a video you can watch) is because of her athletic capabilities, and you just threw that out the window.

Beauty is more than just the shape of the body and the face; it is also a grace of movement, a mastery of a skill. So I apologize for giving the wrong impression by speaking carelessly. But the truth is, I wouldn't watch women's sports if they didn't look pretty. I always root for the prettier athlete. And I don't watch men's sports at all, because they don't look pretty to me. That's just the truth, for me. It's comes from evolution. And I don't think it's immoral; it's not harming anyone. Watching sports is not an obligation; it's just for the luxury of entertainment. There's no other value in the observation of athletics. For me, not enough value to watch, because I happen to usually prefer other pursuits. But aesthetics(the appreciation of beauty) does have high value for me, personally. So I watch sports only for that reason. And thus, only women's sports, and only because of the beauty there is to be found for a man of my peculiar nature to enjoy. I see the physical beauty of youth, health, fertility, the psychological beauty of having the drive to put in the effort it must take to get anywhere near her skill level, instead of taking the easy path. I see innate gifts, such that other people wouldn't get as far, even with her drive; that's a kind of beauty too. All manner of beauties, most to subtle to describe or fully comprehend. But most of the manifest under conceptual umbrella terms like 'cuteness' or simply 'beauty.' 'Hot, fine, gorgeous, adorable....' all such terms apply, and are, for me, terms denoting something close to worship, that takes place in me involuntarily when I behold virtues. For me, it's the opposite of demeaning. It's praise bordering on worship. And since I don't subscribe to Puritan anti-body, anti-corporeal, anti-sexuality value code, I find praise of a female's physical attractiveness to be no less noble, pure, sacred, and worthy of worship, than praise of her intangible virtues. After all, the species can only exist via the sacred virtue of the female form in its time of youth, health, and fertility. We are programmed by evolution to worship that. And for me, personally, since I'm not generally interested in sports, it is where they intersect with that sacred female beauty that I find myself drawn to watch. So I acknowledge that my initial comment failed to convey all of this(but look what a long comment it required to do so.) I only assure everyone that there is ZERO feeling of denigration, disdain, or disrespect of her, within myself.
