CaptainWho I thought the same thing until I talked to a guy who strictly played USSSA. It’s obviously a given these guys are going to hit the ball no matter what. The point behind the pump fakes is to make the guy flinch a little but throwing off his swing and hopefully popping out. Still looks dumb, but there is a reason as to why they do it.

its a different game. baseball is a pitchers game while slow pitch is a hitters game. most of these guys play both anyways but both have their pros and cons.

Softballs are made to be thrown underhand. Try throwing a softball like a baseball and watch what happens to your rotator cuffs.

Lol...got to have 600 dollar bats to hit the ball 400 feet, and even try and hit pitchers..congrats to the pitchers that stands there and tries to field the ball..I played several years ago before all the new bats and balls and had lots of fun

Because they ain't got the power. See I'm 17 and I started playing last year and used a normal bat and hit a ball 350+ feet. And that was in my second tournament.

Depends on the tourney, Issa, nsa, usssa, asa, and each has a certain ball they require! Lately a lot of teams have been using restitch balls so tournaments have been providing softballs.
