For the wheel bolt covers, I yoink them off with a 90 degree pick, not a bog hook like the thing you showed, it’s shaped like the oem one at the end but with a better handle that doesn’t make your fingers soar and bloody

Get a jack stand up under there! Unless that jack has some lock mechanism. I would love to reduce the dust on mine but I don't want to reduce the awesome braking at all.

Hi man. I bought the pads after seen your videos. I did the bed-in procedure as shown on the box, but I still feel that they dont want to stop. could you please tell me how did you perform the bed-in procedure? thanks in advance

im no bedding expert. i just did 10 hard stops in a row, but let it cool 30-60 seconds between each one.

After one year, how it works? Did you still recommended? I need change my beak pads and I don’t know if I buy Brembo pads, Original VW pads or Power stop pads, which one do you recommend?
@LastHumansGarage5 жыл бұрын
never touched them after this video. no issues, they work fine. barely a squeak even after a year. and no dust.
@phwoooaar6 жыл бұрын
you didn't have to apply any ceramic lubricant on the new pads?
@LastHumansGarage6 жыл бұрын
no. pads these days have nice backings, especially these ones. in the old days with shims you had to install yourself, and they barely clipped on.. then you might use some backing pad lube. i dont expect any squeals from these, tho i didnt have any squeals on stock either. just got done cleaning my wheels, we'll see how they do.

I was going to use these exact same pads but the dusting with oem pads lessened as i added more miles to point where its not too bad anymore.
@LastHumansGarage6 жыл бұрын
the dusting doesnt change as pads wear.. maybe you got softer on them.
@calvink30816 жыл бұрын
LastHumansGarage uhh yes it does. Brakes and rotors need to bed in. Even you said this. Brakes dust a lot during bed in period. Ive done numerous brake jobs on my cars and new brakes always dust more until they are done bedding in.
@LastHumansGarage6 жыл бұрын
dang that would be even sweeter then. but a bed in period should be a few mins... not a few days.

Will be interested on your opinion of these after they bed in - I will be looking at this myself at some point, always wanted to try the low dust ceramic pads as brake dust sucks on diamond cut wheels.

Dumb question, but if you only do the pads wont the carbon/ceramic pads use the rotors more?
@LastHumansGarage6 жыл бұрын
no. less in fact. the aftermarkets are less aggressive.
@uSpotGaming6 жыл бұрын
Rofl, thanks.. I guess Nappa just wants to sell more shit which is why they say you need rotors too.
@seanmcd726 жыл бұрын
Napa is telling you that because you should technically either true the rotors or replace them for the best results when installing new pads.
@uSpotGaming6 жыл бұрын
Napa was telling me to buy the rotors as well as they would wear regular rotors out too fast. Hence why i asked the original question.

@LastHumansGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@dominic0313 you only replaced pads, not rotors, right? same as me? mine works great. maybe you didnt bed them in properly? you need to do the 5-10 super hard stops with cooling in between etc... if you didnt do that, that would be exactly why they dont grab well.
@dominic03135 жыл бұрын
LastHumansGarage I bought the entire pad and rotor kit. Since I’m off today I can go out and work on that. Thanks so much for all your help
@LastHumansGarage5 жыл бұрын
@@dominic0313 The pad box should have had detailed paper on how to bed them in. i do about 5 hard stops from 70-10mph, with about 2 mins cooling between each one. like braking just till it is gonna lock up. you want to get pad material stuck on to rotors side also. Then its like you have twice the stopping power, material on both sides of the contact point.
