2018 VW Passat GT - Hacks with Vag-Com/VCDS (1/2)

I just bought VCDS for my 2018 Passat R-Line and I was able to get the needle sweep to work just fine. I would think it should work in the GT even if they have slightly different clusters.

I enabled the celebration(Needle Sweep) on 2014 1.8t Wolfsburg. Couldn't get the mirror thing to work. Didn't get any errors but doesn't work on mine. Also if you are not sure don't play around to much.

I did the needle sweep on my Passat GT with Carista for only $20 bucks and there is so much more, the only thing it didnt have was the lights on the doors.

Stupid question but what is the difference between Vag-Com & VCDS? Where can I order these tools/programs to unlock the features on my Passat GT? Just plugs into the OBD reader under the dash? Thank you!

OBD eleven is a newer version, simplier, app like, yet with fewer options. It's a Bluetooth device that you can plug into the obd reader, and you can make changes with a phone app. Vag-com equal VCDS is a computer software that can be purchased from a website (Ross-Tech). You need a laptop, the specific cable to connect between the laptop and car OBD reader, and the software. More expensive, more advanced. I believe they have two names depending on the European/North American market. Some guys know it as VCDS and some as Vag- Com.

It's crazy to see how the auto manufacturers will build and install various features, but opt to keep them disabled if you don't purchase a specific premium package or whatever. Very good video

Hey man thanks for the vids! I have the white one. Mi biggest gripe is the seating position as I am tall. Do you have any insight to lowering the seat and or the tilt and telescopic steering wheel?? Thanks! I'm about to mod the steering wheel myself its driving me nuts. Too far up and far away

Turtle wax luxe leather for seats and Turtle wax inside and out protectant for plastic

The specs for Canada are a bit different than US, but I did purchased the GPS package with autonomous brake system.

I have a grey passat gt and i have the sweeping lights activated with the obd eleven, they are called celebration cluster lights. I also have installed traction control so it does ESC SPORT and ESC/ASR off completely. Look up passat gt traction control. Great video man

@@gigi19mai1 Yes i tried other options, saw many other youtube videos. But nothing. Only Roof works.,but not windows. By the way the mirrors down when reversing is not working too. So strange.
