You got the best watercraft videos on KZbin. I just bought a 2016 FX cruiser SHO last week. It just has 5 hours so no prop work needed yet.

Theoretically, yes. The steps may be slightly different but the process is mainly the same.

What sealant is used to reassemble mating surfaces?
@watercraftjournal
@watercraftjournal 4 жыл бұрын
Most off-the-shelf silicones will work; we used Permatex Right Stuff for ours as it's the best sealant on the market.

The Watercraft Journal thanks for the reply! Santa brought me a Solas prop from Riva Racing and it’s time to get installed in my 19 VX Cruiser HO. Appreciate the awesome content!!

Thank you for posting this. I have a 2016 fzs with 156 hours on it. Im pretty sure I slightly damaged my prop sucking a rock up the other day. Its not quite as fast and ever so slight vibration. So slight that one might not even notice. Only a hand full of days left for me, Im on lake of the ozarks. Would you ride out the season or should I not risk it? Are there bearings in that pump to replace also? I'll rebuild it this winter for sure.
@watercraftjournal
@watercraftjournal 5 жыл бұрын
It's very likely it's just the prop. You should be OK if you take it easy (don't pin it for an hour straight). The bearings ought to be OK, but it never hurts to take a look when you have the pump out.

what did you use for your gasket material?
@watercraftjournal

Silicone is always recommended; we prefer Permatex Right Stuff. It cures within minutes and is the best sealant we've ever used for cars, boats and PWC.

Be sure it's non chlorinated brake cleaner. Original eats away at anything not metal.

Hi mate what are the signals telling U on water that U need a new prop empeller
@watercraftjournal
@watercraftjournal 3 жыл бұрын
Besides literally looking at the prop (using a flashlight) for damage, you'll often feel a very pronounced vibration.

musmus96 because that effer was so tight we broke a vise. We gave up and took it to a machine shop to heat it up more and break it loose.

I love your channel but on 8:35 you said something that I don't agree with . you said not to use parts cleaner but instead to use breaks cleaner . I am in the chemical cleaning industry . parts cleaner have corrosion preventive ingredients . yes the are alkaline (high PH) . breaks cleaner use acid (low PH ) because they can attack rust better. if you don't have rust - do not use breaks cleaner . use parts cleaner . if you use breaks cleaner and you are going to leave the unit without use (for the winter for example ) - use baking soda or alcohol cleaner (window cleaner )with water to flush the parts to neutralize the PH . Never leave the break cleaner without rinse . it will create small microscopic holes in the metal and rust and corrosion will be even more of a problem . if you use parts cleaner - you should be good . acids attack metal . this is why you go to public toilets and see the faucets all with green residues - they use chlorine and acids that eat the chrome . you don't want it in your watercraft :)
