I totally agree, also the biggest change in gas mileage that i noticed was putting on snow tires all around.

How much of a difference did you notice from the tires?

@@verdier4006 With the standard tires that came with my EX, I'm averaging around 43.8 mpg, when I put the snows on it dropped to about 38 mpg. Keep in mind that run the snow tires on separate and not as wide set of rims. Snow tires are more efficient if they are narrower. By the way keep your videos coming, i find them extremely funny and helpful. Thank you

After two and a half years of driving my 2019 Accord hybrid it's all true. In my experience with highway driving distance matters with the fuel economy numbers. In four miles before I get to the highway I can hit 48mpg in 70 and higher degree temps. But once you merge and get up to speed the number drops to 38 to 40 mpg. After about five miles it can be in the mid forties. Now, all that's out the window once outside temperatures dip below about 65 and gets worse the colder it is. It's 45 this morning in the Houston area and I couldn't do better than about 43mpg where I'd normally be pushing 50. I am normally soft on the pedal and know how to eek out the numbers, but the cold makes it pretty hard. I'd say battery temperature matters when it's cold as the battery has a harder time charging and discharging efficiently when the battery is cold.

I consistently got 51 mpg with mixed driving of about 16 miles of 45 to 50 mph and 25 miles of 65 mph. This would continue until temperatures dropped below 50 degrees. Based on your numbers it seems you might either have a heavier foot on the expressway than myself or, more likely, the 45 to 50 mph 16 miles of driving I did was getting mpg in the 60+ range and the highway driving dropped it down to an overall 51 mpg.

People with EV’s complain as well. Poor mpgs take a hit in cold temps on all vehicles. I agree with your comments. My wife’s Corolla took a 5-7 mpg loss when our area converted from summer fuel to winter fuel.

I have to say that 20 mpg is really abysmal. I got spoiled when I was doing long drives and the car was able to shine. Of course 40-43 mpg was still 8 to 11 mpg less than warm weather.

Love my 2019 ford fusion titanium hybrid it still gets close 530 545 miles on a tank with eletric an gas

The fusion was excellent for gas mileage. It was even better if you planned your drive. The plug-in aspect of the car is excellent for short distance driving.
