Awesome, do you think at this point that it would be easy to swap the headlight assembly over to the 1st gen without much issue? Guessing I could change the bracket and it would work?
@NortonMotorsports6 жыл бұрын
You kinda have to change all the front fairings or none of them since the tank and side panels are different. Tank, upper, sides, and lower

I mean previous model fork tubes was 41mm right? and this one is 37mm measured? so that means 4mm thinner.
@NortonMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
They're a larger diameter at the top where they sit in the triple clamps. You will need larger clip-ons (47mm) for the 2019+ vs 41mm clip-ons for the previous generation models.

Hey Jessie, I have a question, when removing the fuel tank, does it need to be completely empty or does it work like some other bikes and won't drain once I pull all the hoses and connections off?

Like most modern motorcycles that use pressurized fuel injection, you can remove the tank as is with fuel inside just fine.

Can the Yamaha R3 be fitted with the inverted suspension from the 2019 model to the 2016 model?
@NortonMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
Technically it is possible, however new steering head bearings are required, and the cost of the forks alone make this not very cost effective. It's better to get Fork Cartridges for your OEM forks, which stiffen up the suspension, and allow for fine tuning. You can find them here on our website: www.norton-motorsports.com/product-category/yamaha/yamaha-r3-2015/?swoof=1&part_category=suspension-chassis&paged=1&really_curr_tax=243-product_cat

@NortonMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, you can upgrade those items alone, although you may need the new fairing stay. The forks require a complete front end swap.

Question: Can the new forks fit in the old upper and lower triple clamps?
@NortonMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
No, they are a larger diameter. The entire front end must be swapped, and new steering head bearings are required as well. This makes it not very cost effective, and we recommend going with Fork Cartridges instead. You can find them here: www.norton-motorsports.com/product-category/yamaha/yamaha-r3-2015/?swoof=1&part_category=suspension-chassis&paged=1&really_curr_tax=243-product_cat

Hi. is it possible to replace the new front fairing and instrument cluster of the 2019 Yamaha R3 to the old ones ? I seriously like the old front design (except the led twin headlamp, though. and, the new tank cowl also looks better) and semi digital instrument cluster...
@NortonMotorsports Жыл бұрын
It would be possible, but would require pinning out and re-wiring to retro fit the cluster, and the 2019 fairing stay and headlights and fairings. It would be both easier and cheaper to sell your 1st gen R3 and buy a 2nd gen R3.
@mdahashanuddin5942 Жыл бұрын
@@NortonMotorsports Dear, thanks for your reply. But I guess, I have to do the opposite. I already have gen 2 R3. I want to revert back to old one, I mean I want to use 1st gen R3 fairing and instrument cluster.
@NortonMotorsports Жыл бұрын
Same thing, you would need the 1st gen tank, fairing stay, and cluster and would have to re-pin out the wiring harness.

Wait so can the new front headlights and housing fit a 2017 model?
@NortonMotorsports4 күн бұрын
You would have to retro-fit the front fairing stay, all fairings connected to the upper and headlights, and wiring harness, which means you would also have to switch many other electronics. It would be cheaper to buy a used 2019+
