Man. I watched your videos on the gmt900 platform and loved em. Specifically the transmission fluid change. Now I have a T1XX and was pleasantly surprised to see you making content for this truck now! Keep up the good work

When you pre-fill an oil filter, the oil needs to go through the outer holes only, since the filtered oil comes up through the middle. I'm not sure this actually has much of an effect, that's debatable, but if you're gonna do it I'd figure you'd want to make sure the oil is as clean as possible before it goes into the engine. Otherwise, great video, really helped me get an idea of what to expect before I get it done, thanks!

Nice dumb argument you got there. The oil is brand new out of a bottle. Do you filter it before you dump it into the engine? No, you don’t. It’s fine to dump oil into the filter as he does.

I’ve read there is a higher chance of getting nasty in the oil if you pre fill. Like bits of the plastic cap cover film or something. Can’t remember where I heard it, tho.

I just bought a 2024 and read the book. It had NOTHING about an oil change but a full section on how to put on a seatbelt. Just said to take it to the dealership every 7500 miles. Have drivers gotten that bad or is it the auto makers

question , where do you dispose of the old oil ?
@evielknievel4972Ай бұрын
So how many did you do total? 9 quarts? You went in fraction increments. The manual calls for 8.
@MasterJacksАй бұрын
@@evielknievel4972 I put 8 in then checked it. This one took closer to 9 to be in the upper portion of the range on the dipstick. This engine liked it there with very little change in indicated level across the 5k+ miles between oil changes.

i took it to a speedy oil change and they said i needed a new oil plug at every change. they said my 2023 had a different plug. has any heard of this on this model

Don’t go to those places. Find a good local mechanic you can trust, or DIY! Once you do a few times it actually quite easy. Get yourself a can of brake clean for cleaning up any messes and cleaning your drain pan/funnel

How do u rest the oil life on a 2020 Silverado
@MasterJacks4 ай бұрын
@@PTX0432 It's found in the menus on the instrument cluster and accessed through the steering wheel buttons and scroll wheel. You go to the oil life remaining page and press and hold the right hand scroll wheel until it resets. This video shows the process beginning at 1:30

Nice video. Regarding Pre-Filling Oil Filters. Some mechanics say older cars from 1960-1989 do pre-fill them. Cars from 1990-1999 is a personal choice but from 2000 onwards don't pre-fill oil filter cause it wont filter the new oil.
@Maverick09171 Жыл бұрын
Why would brand new oil need to be filtered?
@Boobtube.11 ай бұрын
@@Maverick09171 exactly, there have been tests done on this, and the oil right out of the jug is cleaner than oil than was poured thru the engine and tested after draining back out the drain plug hole. Prefill your oil filters people, dont listen to this hogwash.

@Maverick09171 New oil is pure and contaminant free. No need to filter.

My car is RAV4 2008 4WD Say, my friend, when I am driving my car and when I reach a speed of 20 km / h, I hear a slight sound (whoop whop whop) the speed increases and the sound disappears when I reach a speed of 40km/h I hear it again and clearly as I mentioned to you like the sound of Bearing, but it is not continuous and intermittent like this (whop whop whop) When the speed goes up to more than 40 km/h speeds and the sound disappears completely, if the speed goes up as it did, the sound will not come back Secondly, this sound only appears when the car is accelerating while I am stepping on the fuel , for example, when I am on a slope and the car is running by itself, I keep at 20 or 40km/h speed, there is no sound at all. But if I am driving on a flat road and I am stepping on the fuel the sound appears first at a speed of 20 km/h then disappear then appear at speed of 40 km/h as I mentioned earlier I went to the mechanics for the first time, and he told me to check the difference oil. I checked it and changed it as well, and the sound is still the same I went to a mechanic again and lifted the car and let the car move while we were lifting it. The mechanic is trying to hear the source of the sound, especially at the differential, and the sound of the differential is normal and there is no sound. The mechanic tried to lift each wheel alone, there was a weak sound in the lift frontal wheel bearing, and the rest were intact But the front bearing barely appeared, only when that tire was raised, and when the car was fully raised, it did not appear If you please, as long as the agency and your engineers are experienced and competent Can you tell me what is the possible cause Is this problem as I described it, could it be the source of corona Please report the problem to your mechanic and answer me Thank you very much and appreciation
