I don't think I can really do this trans flush...too close to the exhaust and gm recommend every 45000 to change the this trans fluid and filter...it will cost at least a thousand to do it at dealership, they making people's life so hard

This job is kind of mechanics burning hazard . Would it be possible to have some sort of special isolated cover tool to perform this job? It doesn't seem to be safe for drainage even with gloves on.
@MasterJacks6 ай бұрын
It definitely has the potential to burn you. Maybe long welding gloves, or a hot pad from the kitchen on the pipe.
@hansenriquerach-mendoza35156 ай бұрын
@@MasterJacks for over 80 Celcius kitchen long gloves wouldn't hold tolerance. Perhaps titanium costumized ones should be the expensive solution. Bad designing from GMC as usual.
@MasterJacks6 ай бұрын
It really is poor design. Not just for checking the fluid, but running the pipe right under transmission. That's adding a lot of heat, and makes maintenance difficult. They've been doing it for years

when u drive over 30min-1hr, how high does ur transmission fluid get to? mine is a 2024 3.0L Duramax and it reaches 198°F. is this normal?

What are your average outside temps right now? What kind of driving (city/towing/average speed)?

@@MasterJacks right now summer times is 90°F-100°F, during the week i’m driving 40mph to work and back, but on friday i’m going 70mph-80mph for 2 hrs back home. and no i’m not towing anything , i haven’t yet and it’s marking me the 198-210 mark.

@@edwinmuniz1263 that does seem on the higher end for the type of driving you describe. It may just be related to your outside temps right now. I see 165-185 in the 80-90's. I'd check the fluid level and not sweat it too much if the level's okay.
