@fancyform5 жыл бұрын
@@HEATSEEKER00 Insignificant? In terms of screen time, sure. But if you want to go down that route, everyones role was insignificant besides Phoenix. But Zazies role was a really important storytelling device. That imaginary relationship with Sophie was (together with Thomas Wayne potentially being his father) something he truly desired and needed. This is of course speculative, but I'm sure that not everything in the elevator scene at the beginning was an imagination of Arthurs mind. She certainly noticed him, was kind enough to exchange a few words with him as if he was a normal dude. That kind of everyday kindness is obviously rare for him since every other encounter he has with people seems to be unpleasant, solidifying that he's a freak and that he doesn't belong anywhere. Well, except for little Gary that is. If Arthur ever had a friend, that would be the guy.

@Ritesh Patel (fyi) what todd phillips says about this movie, "a guy who is searching for identity who mistakenly becomes a symbol". He also added "I don't see [Joker] connecting to anything in the future, this is just a movie." if you compared Joker 2019 to the dark knight, those are in two different worlds. And of course we can't disregard skill of both the actors. Joaquin successfully portrayed an ordinary man who becomes a character that we know until now, and Heath is the best portrayal of Joker that we know as a gotham's clown prince of criminal.

I mean I personally prefer Endgame, just because it overcame so many challenges the story had set for itself. But it’s funny because I much prefer the type of film that the Joker is, I really don’t care about the MCU at all. But Endgame just surprisingly did everything right for me (except that idiotic shot with all the female supers). Of course I understand people preferring Joker and it’s terrific too, just letting you know not all Endgame fans are necessarily idiots or that they dislike Joker.

thatfilmgeekguy overcame challenges? My one problem with Infinity War was them setting up the ‘one’ scenario they win. It dismisses any other logical scenario they could potentially win. It’s so vague, ‘no, this had to happen!’ Uhmm Hence The Rat who saved the Universe. That’s overcoming a challenge? Time travel is messy too. They kind of had me for a little bit until Stark came to the rescue once something went wrong. They literally could not lose. By Infinity Wars logic the ‘Portals’ scene should’ve been impossible but no, apparently Strange has the power of the space stone now. Stark, a human being able to wield infinite power was arguably the worst of all. His armor is advanced but he still is only human.
@Kaigozen5 жыл бұрын
@@thatfilmgeekguy Endgame was overrated AF
@thatfilmgeekguy5 жыл бұрын
Zapdos Zapdos Yeah dude if you’re gonna start doing this then you’re talking to the wrong guy. I don’t give shit one about plot holes, and if you start doing that then the plot of The Dark Knight is fucking Swiss cheese, not to mention other great films like the original Star Wars, Back To The Future or even Metropolis (not that I’m saying Endgame is as good as those). The fact alone that a film that size spent the first hour wallowing in the aftermath of its previous film, and most of it on character stuff, was great to me. Sure there were little things that stood out (Stark solving time travel as quickly as he did bothered me more than any of the crap you pointed out), but very few films don’t have flaws like these, especially ones of this size. If it’s not outright affecting characterisation, I don’t care. And let’s not act like Joker doesn’t have flaws, because it has a LOT of them.
