Since it seems like you don’t know much lol I tell you just in case. That award goes to the best quarterback in all of college football. Not saying he will win it or is the next Danny Wuerffel but to say he isn’t that good is ridiculous.

This ended up being such a big game for the season. It saw Kyle Trask replace Franks and solidify himself as the man in Gainesville, leading them to an Orange Bowl victory and setting himself up for very high expectations in 2020. Consequently, Trask's play lead to Franks losing his job and eventually transferring. It saw Kentucky backup Sawyer Smith sustain the injury that would render him ineffective for the rest of the year and force WR Lynn Bowden to replace him for the last eight games and lead the SEC in rushing and very nearly break Cam Newton's SEC QB rushing record in only eight games (!). And it had the incident with Kentucky LB Kash Daniel and Kyle Trask's ankle. Daniel denied it, and everyone pretty much forgot about it after a few weeks, except Daniel who publicly admitted his actions and apologized to Trask after Kentucky's Belk Bowl victory. So this game changed the course of a lot of lives!

God Bless Felipe never wish bad on anybody and hope he has a speedy recovery. But the offense runs waayyyy too slow when he's playing. Looking at the stats will tell you he's playing well. But the QBR and how we were playing with him was atrotious. It wasn't coincidence that we came back quickly with Trask in the game. And with Emory in the wings, we could make a hard push
@TLR_MinkxVenom5 жыл бұрын
Jalil Davis the reason it was slow also is our lack of a consistent good running game. Our Oline is great pass blocking. Run blocking is the issue it was not really Franks tbh but as a team we were slow. With Trask we seemed to be a bit faster thanks to his quick throws instead of keeping the ball for 8 seconds.

Just imagine Trask had the defensive support in 2020, they would have had a serious shot at a championship and he would have gone down as one of the best zero to hero stories ever. Everybody always forgets this dude was a backup his whole career, even in high school.
@Litfilmz10 ай бұрын
I mean Tbf we only lost by 6 points in the SEC championship to Alabama after playing a pretty good ALL SEC season, if it would have been a regular season I think he would have won the heisman for sure, I also look back at these games and wonder WHY TF DID WE FIRE DAN MULLEN!? Billy is supposed to be this great recruiter but he’s still yet to recruit better than Mullen, he had one class that was only one spot better than mullens first ever class every other recruit class of mullens has ranked higher and mullen could actually call a game
@senorpapasfritasconqueso10 ай бұрын
@@Litfilmz it's confusing. I feel like his hesitance to release Todd Grantham was a big thing, but he did fire Grantham I think two weeks before he was fired himself and still got canned. From what I understand, he pretty much forbade the staff from recruiting during the season, and I think that caused problems with the higher-ups. But you're absolutely right, Napier isn't accomplishing anything he said he would. I've heard a lot about the NIL stuff, and it sounds like he hasn't gotten the boosters on board with him, whether because of his lack of results or whatever, so I think they're struggling to hold onto their top recruits because of that. I don't see how else you explain him blowing his top 3 class two weeks before signing day. Something I've heard is that the boosters are still making their donations to the UAA rather than an internal roster fund, which also explains how the UAA has a half billion to spend towards their stadium renovation plan. I guess they care more about the concrete than who plays on the grass. Mullen's playbook is my favorite of all time at any level of the game, and I really love the intensity and commitment he inspires as a head coach. It's really a shame to me that he's not coaching anywhere now. Florida as a program just makes me sad these days. It's supposed to be top 10 every year - championship or bust. It doesn't happen that often here, but they were always right there and so it was easy to root for them. Now all the fans are crossing their fingers for 8 wins. I just can't believe how mediocre the program has become.
@Litfilmz10 ай бұрын
@@senorpapasfritasconqueso I completely agree brother I couldn’t have said it better myself!! One thing though about mullen is I believe that rumor about him not recruiting at all during football season came from one post game conference where he said “we’ll worry about recruiting when it’s recruiting season” I don’t personally think he was saying they don’t recruit during season as I don’t think it would be possible to consistently pull in top 15 classes that way but I think he was saying right now we are chasing a championship and that’s what’s forefront in our minds. But I definitely could be wrong on that, regardless like you said mullens results on the field were pretty impressive all in all and he got canned after one subpar season, if recruiting was the biggest problem why couldn’t we sign someone who is specifically in charge of recruiting instead of getting to where we are now where we apparently have a “defensive head coach” to coach our defensive coordinator🤦♂️ it just doesn’t make much sense at all bro it’s honestly so frustrating, I just hope lagway can be the next Tebow who takes this program back to where it belongs, at the top🐊🐊🐊🙏
@senorpapasfritasconqueso10 ай бұрын
@@Litfilmz yeah that could be total hearsay idk, I guess I'm guilty of it too now lol. I completely agree though, they overreacted with Mullen. It's not like the dude ever cared about the press either, he's always been a player's coach, so idk why they were surprised that he wasn't interested in bullshitting with sports writers. And yeah the people who complained about the roster talent under Mullen never looked at the stats. Napier hasn't even scraped the talent level he had, and now he's losing his star players to the portal. He's just a disaster. Sigh. Anyways, apparently Napier just hired a dude to be a GM basically just for roster management, so I wonder if that's his attempt to start getting essentially a player payroll going. Idk Tebow was being blocked for by 5 NFL lineman, throwing to 3 NFL receivers plus an NFL TE, and handing off to the fastest RB in all of college football at the time. He had Dan Mullen's playbook to run. Then, he would score, walk off the field, and a defense with 8 five stars would take the field. Not saying anything bad about Tebow or Lagway, but the new kid won't have nearly the same support Tebow had.

Cut to Josh Hammond scoring while the internet was breaking up and we didn't know what was going on. When the internet stopped buffering we realized Florida was going to win. My butthole unclinched and I realized my passenger was very bummed. It was that moment I realized he was wearing a UK T shirt. Mind you, I picked him up in Clemson SC. Kentucky would have won if they didn't have a stupid kicker.

That targeting call against uk was ridiculous and changed the game

Is that how it happens? You start out a Kentucky fan, “then” you become a gator fan? If so, we will welcome you to the fan base Brandon.

@@twitchistheman1991 I was born and raised in Kentucky, grew up a UK fan, bled blue, still hate Duke, etc....moved away at 18 when I enrolled at UF. Have never looked back. Go Gators!

lol, like all of your fans are classy. Trust me, plenty of idiot cat fans show up for basketball games. I think you know that. You just don't see them as often for sports you suck at, like football.

I’m a gator fan but I think Kentucky is getting better and I like how y’all give us competition because for the past 3 years now the game for both teams have made the season for either team a make or break season
