Airstream has LAID AN EGG AS took a good fiberglass idea & not only priced themselves out of the market, they're making all competitors look good in comparison. Pre-Airstream Nests were priced @$30,000; Airstream Nests are 50% @ $45,000+

If I was going to buy a camp trailer the Nest would top the list. It has great styling, quality, utility and value. Like everything else, you get what you pay for. This trailer is a winner. When you buy cheap, you get cheap. Quality always costs less. I would like to see twin propane bottles.

Is there a way to lock battery and propane box area? Also storage areas too?
@campingworld Жыл бұрын
Hey J.N., Ian Baker here. The storage areas will lock, however a manufacturer cannot design a locking propane compartment in the US as it's against code. To my understanding, there needs to be access to the propane compartment in the event of a fire. Hope that helps! -Ian Baker

@Camping World Then batteries should be inside the trailer as so much theft and owners can't afford to replace all that is taken.

I just purchased a Forest River 20-ft. The weight is about the same, but the price is only one-third, plus it has a full bathroom with tub/shower. Knowing Airstream, the Nest will probably last for 50 years, but I won't. :D
@lucky12066 жыл бұрын
I seen this at the L.A. Auto Show and it's pretty cool. I plan to buy an Airstream but not this one mainly because it is 3,200 dry weight and my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT can only tow up to 3,400 pounds. I seen another Airstream that weighed around 2,800 wet so I will go with that. I hope I can buy this next year after I buy a house...they are pretty cool and made with very great quality

The non propane refrigerator killed it for me. I camp remotely and rely on the refrigerator. Otherwise this is a great camper.
@lucky12066 жыл бұрын
I think everyone relies on a refrigerator😂😂 but it is pretty nice. Everyone on the comments talk about the price, but given that this can last for decades and built great I think the price can be covered after a while. I'm personally not getting this one mainly because of the weight. My 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT can tow up to 3,400 pounds so I will look into another Airstream under that weight limit

I like it alot. I’d fall in love if it was priced between /$30 - $36,000. What’s that you say? “The novice 28 to 38 young’ ins can do the $45,000 + finance thing”. Even though I have the cash... it won’t happen. I know, I’ll wait and keep my eyes open for the financed repos. Yah, that’s the ticket !
@livingthelife62846 жыл бұрын
The Nest has a lot going for it, except the price. On top of the high price you would need to upgrade to the better batteries. Why is the air conditioning unit so large for a small RV. It should be 8 to 10,000 btu's. Where could I install a 3000 inverter generator? I think with all the upgrades I would need, this Nest would jump to a price that would push me into another category of high end RV's.

The demonstration was good, but it failed to show the critical interior conversion from day to sleeping mode, always a hassle in small trailers. Airstream should be commended for migrating to the future of composite construction which offers finish, liveability, serviceability and strength unattainable in their obsolete aluminum units. But the design suffers from external tanks which preclude 4 season operation, limited ground clearance that makes unimproved roads off-limits, stinky, dangerous open flame propane cookery instead of state of the art induction, no security system and power provisioning that is not up to servicing the installed amenities. All-in-all, a good start at the future that needs refining.

I yes it is a nice trailer should have a rack on the top so in case you want to put bike or boat something also should have clearance of the tires in case you want to go further the Terrain or Mountain. And I assume the price is too high.

Put a two person dinette table to the side and a full bed to the other side. A couple could eat dinner and go to bed without effing around with the table. How many "families" will really want this? But it could be great for couples.

The 20 pound propane tank is too small and not "easily exchangeable". I've never seen a 20 pound tank for exchange. They are all 40 pound tanks. The 30 gallon mixed black and grey tank will be full the second day of use. For 45K I would expect solar and lithium batteries. If I lay sideways on the rubber mattress with a pillow, will my feet push against the wall? It seems to be a luxury price for spartan features.

No corian countertop? You have to squat to use the microwave? No built in TV and digital antenna? Simple slide in / out pantry would have been much nicer than the little cutouts. Hate the fabric covered roof panel. That will stink after absorbing odors.

I can't stand reviews / demos that don't demo everything. Also, once again, when Airstream deviates from their bread and butter they completely crap the bed. Not sure where they came up with the price point on this new concept model. I'm very interested in how many of these move in the next 12 months.
