Seriously... Why is Kvyat not getting any attention? It's starting to annoy me. this guy went from 19 to 7th in a Torro Rosso and ended in front of his Team mate. It's like one of the greatest things that happened in this race.
@zmn786

The only reason Albon got attention was because it was his first time in the RB. Giving Kvyat attention means mentioning other drives as well - the video is already 17 mins long when speaking about less than half the grid.

seemed a bit gamey that moment lol. i thought that was a yellow flag zone and perez went wide to get better drive for the kemmel straight knowing that albon couldn't overtake him into la source but would be getting DRS. because lando had just pulled up to the side of the track.

Albon also slightly got off the gas a little early at 11:41 if you listen carefully - yellow flag, yes, but he lifted acceleration earlier. He already started keeping a distance so that Perez won't be able to get the DRS... which he tried by intentionally cruising in La Source, the hairpin.

Kvyat at Toro Rosso: From P19 to P7. Usual. Boring. Doesn't note from anybody. Albon at Red Bull: From P17 to P5 - Everyone - FANTASTIC RACE!!! Is it normal? I don't want to say anything bad about Alex or his perfomance in Belgium - he did a great job. But Kvyat's race wasn't mentioned anywhere - even in Red Bull media sources. That's not fair - Kvyat had a brilliant race, but no one wants to notice that.

@RichardsRockin
@RichardsRockin 5 жыл бұрын
Because the could haves, would haves, might haves and ifs open up a gazillion scenarios. Vettel could have had a better result if he pitted later. Raikkonen could have fought for a top5, if he hasn't been hit, Lando could have been 5th if there was a lap less, this could be Leclerc 2nd win if he hadn't had problems in Bahrain. And on and on and on... I don't know who's butthurt, but this is just a cheap and empty kind of discussion.

@@RichardsRockin of course it's empty as the what ifs scenarios did not happen. 8:02 The reason why RedBull lost Hungary. Had RedBull had a 2nd close driver or a capable opponent (Vettel or Leclerc) in the right orbit Hamilton would not have won. To my eyes and many Redbull had Hungary. Had the 5 second penalty not applied to Redbull Honda in Monaco a penalty we know had been inconsistently applied to unsafe Pit release (Ferrari in Germany gets peanut fine), The Honda powered Redbull would have easily had 4 Wins by Germany (mid season before the break). Perez didn't make a mistake at La Source. He cut the final corner at the Bus Stop, so went wide to allow Albon to overtake. Albon didn't want to overtake knowing that Perez would get DRS for the straight and overtake him before T5. Perez then moves from the racing line for Albon on overtake on the straight as normal - strangely Albon tries to overtake on the inside rather than staying on the racing line. No penalty needed just smart racing from Perez

Look at Vettel, when he was winning he had haters, know he is doing bad we are not allowed to criticize him. Lewis is brilliant and don’t let people make you think other wise

It’s wrong to use this argument. Spa was a race to see who was quickest over 44 laps. The engines must last a specific number of laps, the brakes, the fuel etc. Mercedes made a (rare) miscalculation in how safe they played it and they lost out. McLaren also made a miscalculation, but in reverse. If you want to argue that Hamilton would have a won a 45 lap race, then Norris could have also had a massive points gain if it had been a 43 lap race... But that’s not how it works. The teams are building cars to be the quickest to complete 44 laps and in this case, it was Ferrari.

11:47 Perez goes out wide at turn 1 to let Albon pass and have DRS on Kemmel straight. For the same reason Albon slows down at that turn, to keep Perez in front of him

Perez was fighting Albon for DRS into Turn 1 that going wide is on purpose! In Turn 1 Perez is going wide so Albon passes him and Perez will have DRS making it easy for him to pass Albon on the Camel Straight. The RBR wouldn't have had a chance on the straight against the Racing Point with DRS. Albon tho knew what Perez was up to and he doesn't pass him in Turn 1! You can see that Albon is holding back to let Perez go by after Turn 1 he also said that in an interview. Very interesting situation in my opinion and very well played by Albon :D

Because we are competing, competing to win. Not to become 3rd 4th 5th or 6th. Sometimes you get it wrong, it is impossible to get it right all the time"

Wow, lots of comments on the "one more lap" heading. SPOILER ALERT...watch analysis first. From what I heard in the analysis the point made is that Vettel did such a good job at holding Hamilton back so Hamilton didn't get into an overtaking position in the race. The comments should be "Good job Vettel, you really helped your team mate". Please watch and listen before commenting

It honestly was completely uncessary move from Max....knowing from his own experience what happened in 2016, you would think that he knew better than to go there on lap 1. Even if Red Bull lacked pace compared to Ferrari and Merc, he still should have had no trouble getting past Perez and Kimi later on in the race, so it was far too risky move to try the same thing he tried in 2016. For sure Kimi could have left more room, but the last time he likely checked on mirror was when Perez was still there so Kimi thought he had that situation covered. So for sure I can understand it was racing incident, but this is something that Max could have avoided entirely but not trying to be so darn greedy at the start into that corner where he knows its going to be tight with others cars at the start. Really shame for Kim/Alfa as they had good speed entire weekend and Kimi could have taken his best result of the season and add valuable points for Alfa's struggle to get that 5th place in WCC.

You haven't been paying attention this time Mr. Palmer. Albon and Perez where kind of having a DRS battle, about who would get it. At least that's what Albon said in his interview. So he purposely slowed down there cause he knew Perez wanted that DRS. But great vid anyway man. Hope we will keep seeing this for a long time.

Did anyone think before Albon took Perez he did potentially force Sergio off the track and perez maybe attempted to let him past at turn 1. But albon refused the position (all be it very smartly) so he had the DRS advantage after Eau Rouge? At least that's what it looked like to me with the on-boards 🤘

Second place isn't bad along with the 18 points! LH came up from starting in 3rd and almost caught CL...Good results and now on to the next race! Ferrari could win both Spa and Italy, that's the tracks they race well at and we've got plenty of races left that Mercedes does extremely well at!

Perez deserved a penalty for forcing Albon off the track. He moved left to take the normal racing line then back right as Albon came alongside and kept moving over even as Albon was clearly passing him, squeezing him almost completely off track.

on the one side you are right and I agree with you. And I also wonder whether or not he should've thought about the possibility that he will be squeezed in because it's a turn one at the start of the race, shit's usually just unpredictable there. On the other side - he lost positions at the start (be it on him or the engine programming as RBR says is a totally another subject to talk about) and, well, he's a race winning driver in a race winning car as he proved that himself and he knows that he should be taking fight to the Mercedes and Ferrari, not midfield teams, so making up for the bad start as soon as possible to be right up there with the big boys, was most likely on his mind, and I'd say understandably so. I mean, when the big boys are the likes of Merc and Ferrari at Spa, every turn, maybe even every second behind a midfield car counts. And I don't think you can argue that there wasn't a gap as well. Not saying he's not at fault, I completely agree with Palmer here, racing incident, both were involved yada-yada-yada, all I'm doing is I just give my reasoning as to *why* he was so aggressive and didn't simpy "let go". Now, whether he should have been so aggressive, well, considering what exactly happened I'd really say no...with an asterics. I mean, yes, Merc and Ferrari were just plain better than Red Bull in Spa, but, well, he's still driving a Red Bull. What asterics is for? Well, mainly for the fact there was a possibility, a gap, and what I said earlier, that he should be fighting at the front, and he knows it.
