The original i8 is 150k brand new and it's 80k with super low miles. I feel like the only thing your buying here is a futuristic looking sports car and some cool doors. It's just a engineering exercise from BMW I love this car so much but you don't get much performance out of it for the price

To me the only thing the engineers failed with this car is the combustion engine, come on a 3 cylinder?! They should have put in a 6 cylinder even with a smaller displacement; the 6 cylinders straight "6" is the trademark of BMW. This car is beautiful to me, but it isn't a BMW... Anyone feel me?

Golden Nugget do you think that they didn't thought about that? They had their motivations to put an engine like that. Less weight, less fuel consumption (so they could've put a smaller tank), more space for other components etc

Yes it is a choice they made and they had their reason, it is also their choice to make a car that isn’t a bmw and that nobody identifies with - hence really bad sales. Killur - you do realise bmw puts straight 6 engines in most of their cars right?

Golden Nugget the engineers had nothing to do with the engine displacement, and also the car was trying to pose a message and make something new. There are talks of a 4 cylinder version coming out soon

They gave it a 3 cylinder on purpose, the car is about efficiency as a vision of what a future sport car could be. Putting a bigger engine it it would have defeated the purpose. What I do think they should have done is, after making the statement about efficiency they should have also made a performance version later and call it the i8M

First of all i want to say that i love some of the videos of this channel, i dont mean to spam or troll or anything, but i honestly is hard to believe how uncomfortable would be driving there, that road is the worst you could choose to drive a beautiful car like that one, people in the middle of the road on bicycles, you need to move to let the other cars go through, is really boring to see that, and frustrating too, how hard is to find a highway anyway? When the i8 first came out i thought the power output was just embarassing...and i still think that today (i know that's not how they promote the car). But what's even crazier is the price tag of these. It's at a point where I don't think its futuristic look/ and modern technology is justifiable enough to make it so expensive. You can get a barely used 991.1 GT3 for less!

I'm sorry, i'm not trying to insult you directly or anything but it is always frustrating to see when someone pulls up some (wrong) numbers with such a confidence. The i8 does not do anything in under 4 sec my friend. Try 4.5-4.7 sec. Is that slow? Not at all...but for that price tag it is. Of course a car's value is not all based on 0-100 performance you get the point. You tell me, would buy this car over let's say a slightly used (or not even used) Audi R8 Plus or a 911 GT3?
