The expedition is merely a plastic tub on wheels, and the design of the Silverado wasn’t bad, it was actually pretty gorgeous, and considering that the current generation of the Tahoe is neck and neck with the expedition, the new Tahoe will surely blow that plastic piece of crap (the expedition) out of the water.

@@guppy2842 The only fallacy is saying a Ford is a plastic tub on wheels when defending GM. The exterior of the new Silverado looked okay, but the interior is just the same plastic from last gen re-arranged. There's even more plastic, even the hood latch was made into plastic. The suspension and engine tech somehow went backwords. Tahoe is not at all neck and neck. Exp has a higher quality interior, suspension, and a pretty decently powered engine. Doubt it and GM's have just as much plastic if not more. I doubt selling out to China is going to change that.

The Chevy Tahoe (and its longer brother the Suburban) are some of the highest quality vehicles on the planet. GM practically owns the big body-on-frame segment (although Ford is hot on their tail with the all-new Expedition). They sell all they can make and are investing even more money in the Arlington, Texas plant where they are manufactured. These vehicles will never go away and die because there is too high a demand for them. Many people recognized the superior design and build quality of a truck-frame/rear-wheel-drive based vehicle. They are more rugged than the many "cross-over" front-wheel-drive/car-based vehicles on the market.

Body on frame is perfect for towing and hauling. I wouldn't be able to pull our wakeboard boat with a crossover SUV as they would struggle to tow the weight, and even worst have the braking power to stop the load. We love our body on frame Tahoe!

I test drove a Chevy Tahoe LT, and a Ford Expedition Limited. Loved the V8 in the Tahoe but I felt the Expedition was better quality and an overall better car, so I bought a 2018 Ford Expedition Limited!

If they made the 3rd row more practical in this Tahoe it would be the perfect SUV. You have to go with the Suburban or Yukon XL to get the proper 3rd row. I hardly use a 3rd row but knowing how big this vehicle is it's ridiculous your knees touch your chest if you're anything over 4 feet tall when sitting back there.

Dude, you say going over speed-bumps is 'pretty ok'? You are so wrong with this statement! The vehicle is terrible with anything but smooth pavement and there's a reason for for that. Tow Capacity. How much can be hauled behind it (think boat) is keenly important to these vehicles hence the trade in comfort. If you are used to a Range Rover and then you get into one of these bad boys, get ready for a numbing experience. I make a game out of it all, how long can I drive the thing without upsetting the passenger? (me). Would I buy another one? Yes. It's good for what I use it for and knowing the limitations is key.

Warren Currier No it isn’t. The reason it rides so rough is because GM doesn’t update the suspension. Most of their trucks are still riding on stiff suspensions with cheap $80 shocks. Pretty much have to get a Denali or a Cadillac if you want a nice riding truck from GM.

And if I am reading your comment correctly you are saying that you are not satisfied with the performance over bumps. Correct? The truck is for my own use, family, etc., but I'll tell you, if this were used for a Limo I'd be fitting something different in the next few hours. Really bad on bumps. I do not tow anything (yet) so I may change to a different shock so as to have a smoother ride for family.

@@wmc9722 I believe so but from my understanding both stock shocks the Bilsteins and the Ranchos used on GM trucks are pretty low quality, like bottom of the barrel for both brands. I think it's just kind of disappointment that you can spend so much on these trucks now and you still get that. Both Ford and Ram have decent shocks, and I know they got a lot more for their off-road models. So does Toyota.
