There’s a strong possibility I’m going to purchase one of these in the next month. Your videos are pretty much tutorials and I love it!

I test drove the Canadian XSE today and it did not have traffic sign recognition at all, even in the menu like you showed. I wonder if that can be updated at the dealer. We don't get JBL or swiveling headlights either as an option in Canada but wireless charging and the upgraded infotainment with navigation is actually standard here. Also, the ride and material quality was superb. Full aluminium hood was super light and nice. And the adjustable armrest in the XSE was a nice addition. And the doors definitely have sound dampening in XSE versus SE. The front door-closing sound was one of my favorite features of the car. Along with the color and adjustable lumbar support, and the seats themselves. I am very weird when it comes to the criteria when choosing a car 🤪

The only sign its picking up thats useful is the speed limit. It's showing the stop sign and yield sign way too late to actually be useful in assisting you. If you didn't notice the stop sign, and start to brake when the car showed stop sign you would have flew past the sign by that point.

Great informative videos. This is the first time I've ever been interested in a Corolla. Looking to purchase a 2020 sedan with the manual. Comment on the Road Sign Assist. I don't think it would be useful to me since my eyes would be on the road. I would hate it if people are constantly taking their eyes off the road to look for road signs!!?! It would be great if you could turn on a tone where the tones were slightly different based on the road sign type. In this way you wouldn't need to take your eyes off the road. One more suggestion - I would pay for an optional heads up display with the Road Sign Assist integrated. Thanks. Current proud owner of 2000 Lexus RX350. Last new car purchase 1990 Acura Legend L Coupe. Out of preparation for advanced age considering new car with advanced safety features. Worked at 'ko-gaisha' of Toyota in Nagoya many moons ago.

Is this available in the Heads Up display on a 19 Camry?

I bought the 2019 XSE and can report that it does NOT read any signs.. those speed signs others are seeing of from the map data. The only 2019 I saw with sign recognition feature was the Corolla hatchback.. 2020 highlander limited has it

My 2016 Camry had a digital speed display. Is there a way I can do this on my new Corolla?

So, let me see if I have this right. There is NO audible warning that the driver is about to blow through a stop sign or red light. Is that right?

Great demo video !! Does this roadsign detection work on the road at night ?? Do the headlights work well enough to light up the signs ?
@salamalpolus40695 жыл бұрын
The speed limit sign get it when you exactly approach the speed limit sign. plus the speed limit detect even the school zone speed limit even when there is no school it's kinda not really good, but after all it's very good car.

While I drive, I look at the road, not towards dash board. If there's a road sign, will it give me any audible reminder as well? (If not, I don't see much use of it except knowing the road speed limit).
@zainery5 жыл бұрын
Muntasir Mamun Its meant as a reminder. You check it once the sign has already passed

It will only show other signs when you are on the cruise control page. It will only show the speed limit on all of the other pages.

Hi. I wonder if you can tell me why in my 21 prius prime the signs over lap each other. I see the speed limit and can see the outer lines of the stop sign. While your VDO clearly shows them side by side.

If you don't stop completely for sign or exceed speed sign does it give any warnings
@Toyotajeff6 жыл бұрын
This was my first time testing it out, so I'm not sure yet. I heard rumblings that you can be alerted if you exceed speed, but I'm not sure yet if that just means it will light up the speed limit and if you look at it, you can see you're going faster or not....stay tuned for official answer from Toyota! Jeff

I think the perimeter of the speed limit sign displayed on the dash turns red when you're exceeding the speed limit. 1:44

You did not mention that when you drive past the speed limit, the sign then has a red outline. Actually, my question is, I thought a tone sounds when you exceed the speed limit?? ( I just bought an XLE Premium Rav4)
@briank101015 жыл бұрын
From Toyota manual for 2019 RAV4. When the vehicle speed exceeds the speed warning threshold of the speed limit sign displayed, the sign display will be emphasized and a buzzer will sound. When the RSA system recognizes a do not enter sign and determines that your vehicle has entered a no-entry area, the displayed sign will flash and a buzzer will sound.
@MultiSkyman15 жыл бұрын
@@briank10101 Thanks. I read that too in my manual. But all I get is the speed limit sign and red outline when I exceed the limit. No buzzer, or the other warnings. Guess I need to call or go back to dealer.

This car makes my 2018 Camry SE feel old and outdated. 😁 It's loaded to the brim with technology. Toyota has a real hit on their hands with this hatchback.

Hopefully Toyota adds all of the new features in the Camry 2019!!!

This is absolutely useless, unless the car actually does something from reading these signs. Am I going to keep looking at the tiny symbols on the dashboard, OR what is visible what is front of my face. This will be good use, when the car actually slows down to the speed sign it reads. Otherwise, it is just another electronic badge that is useless.!

Fun to Drive and Toyota are never used in the same sentence. This road sign assist is dumb...if you need this feature to drive, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel.
