because typically a viewer base is also a practitioner of the sport. not many people do trials compared to the amount of people who kicked a soccerball

@@Psyrecx I think this is a good point actually. While of course other sports have issues with officiating, you still know when the ball goes through the hoop or in to the endzone. With this it's entirely subjective

Bikes weigh between 65-80kgs. The other would either be a retired rider or just not as skilled. Mainly there to catch if the rider falls.

As someone who doesn't know much about the sport. Isn't it unfair that they just added one point to break the tie? They had a tie and just added a mark, which broke the tie. That is just unfair.

I was a spectator at a trials event just North of Hempstead, Texas in the mid-70's. There was one trap where you had to climb a very steep creek bank...maybe 8-10 feet high. As soon as you got to the top, you had to make an immediate left, travel 6 feet or so, then descend the same creek bank. We watched rider after rider try to negotiate the trap without putting a foot down. None were able to do so. The riders were moving to the next trap, with the crowd of spectators following, when a guy on a Honda 750 came riding up behind us. He climbed the creek bank, turned, and descended...without touching. We all looked at each other, and burst out laughing. The guy on the Honda just smiled and rode on to the next trap.
