I'm now on my second Focus (I had my first one for 12 years) but we can't get the new one in the USA anymore. Americans are terrified of station wagons (Estates) but are in love with SUVs and crossovers which are essentially wagons. It's so illogical it's breathtaking. I wanted either the new Fiesta or the new Focus but that's not going to happen. Maybe we'll get the new Puma here in the States, I can only hope.

Just don't understand why they don't do an awd variant of the focus, I'd have one soon as, just put a milder version of the RS awd system and be done. Love everything about the focus having owned many over the years and my current car, awd would just give a little more traction on our mostly wet, damp and poor roads in the UK and give a little more safety even if it does sacrifice a bit of mpg.
@mindtraveller1005 жыл бұрын
They know that 99% of potential buyers of crossovers and similar vehicles don´t care at all about awd, they are just following a trend.

@@sesarman Best to have a diverse offering to appeal to a wide range of customers - A great approach would be to offer an 'enthusiast' line of hatchbacks: the new Focus ST, Fiesta ST and Puma ST would all work great for this Enthusiast sub brand for Ford. They are all fun to drive with a 6 speed manual available and make great daily drivers too, which is what I personally am looking for in a car. They are very versatile and can haul people and cargo if needed, but remain enjoyable to drive. Since they are already fully developed and engineered and on the market in Europe and elsewhere, it's a no-brainer to simply bring them back to our North American market. They would be excellent competition for the VW GTI, Civic Si and Type R, Veloster N and upcoming GR Corolla. Trust me, Ford would DOMINATE this market share. Their new generation ST models are much improved over the previous Fiesta ST and Focus ST, not to mention the Focus ST now is available in an automatic along with the excellent 6 speed manual.
