i thought about it and i think it’s because bts’s latest title track is boy with luv which is connected to boy in luv and from bighit’s perspective i guess it’s a good way to maximize the promotion. also yeonjun already knew the choreo to it so it now makes sense to me that it was the most logical song to cover. i don’t really think that it has to do anything with the connection of boy in luv and run away, i think that bighit is not trying to connect the two songs with this cover and they are just trying to promote their groups to the maximum which is understandable since they are a company

not to add to an ancient thread, but i see confusion about that taehyun/beomgyu (jungkook/jimin in the original) note a lot because that it's sung in a two part octave harmony. taehyun and beomgyu ARE singing together but taehyun is singing one octave higher. having a vocalist on the lower harmony makes the sound of that really high belt MUCH cooler. i hate when people only focus on a vocalists ability to hit high notes because there's so much more to giving a good vocal performance than that and beomgyu is a great example of a vocalist whose lower register really shines💖

This is what I'm talking about, you cover songs and perform according to your age. I must say that they chose a great song from 2014 Bangtan. Boy In Luv is iconic bc you cannot just dance and sang it easily. It includes a lot of energy bc we know that BTS has a different kind of dance style. But these babies chicks killed it really!❤️ They are still rookies and majority of them are still minors so they have to do it step by step. Thank God BigHit is not after trendy songs and performances, they're molding their rookies from the bottom so people will be able to see them and their music grow. TXT's stage was absolutely amazing. The vocals, the rap, the choreography, the energy is there. Every member did an amazing job, from Soobin rapping Jungkook's part, Yeonjun rapping Namjoon's part, Huening Kai's growls at the chorus, Beomgyu's deep voice and incredible expressions, and last but not the least Taehyun, he did a good job hitting the highnote and let's not forget he did Hoseok's rap part. From all groups that covered BTS this year in my personal opinion, I must say TXT stood out the most. Not only because of their energy but also because of how they did not change the choreography of the dance no matter how hard it is. The dance might look easy but it's very difficult to synchronize each other especially since the five of them have their own different styles. The song itself was good, the only problem was the backtrack since it was so loud I couldn't here their voices that much, but I must say that BTS and TXT's voice is so good together. Let's also appreciate the fact that they didn't need to change the pitch of the song to a higher pitch or lower one to suit their voices but rather chose to sing the original song itself. I'm just hoping for a TXT and BTS stage collab which might not happened considering the amount of hate they got when TXT covered BTS on Idol Room. Overall, the performance was perfect, if ever that they do a cover again I'm surely gonna look forward to it since TXT never fails to amaze me.
