Is there a follow up video on this after the trip you talk of in this video? Looking at getting one for my rzr but have some of the same concerns you have in this video.

I mentioned the performance in another video. I never did a stand alone video about it, probably should have. The Dura Clutch seems to perform very well on everything we've tried so far to date. He has done some trips to the dunes. He did eventually blow a belt, but it's been several years that he's been driving on the same belt. The only reason I haven't put one in my XP. General, is because I've heard they're not good for people who go fast. But he drives fast and slow. And it seems to be working just fine. Although he doesn't do hill climbes like I do or go to the dunes as often. And his machine is quite a bit lighter than mine. But I have been very tempted. To put one in mine and see it how holds up?

Thanks for the reply, my main concern is how aggressive the ebs will be. Most of the trails we ride in WV we can’t get much over 15-20 and some steep hills up and down, some roads. I just worry about the slick conditions with the ebs being aggressive.

My general XP has the same clutch as an rzr Xp and I put a Dalton clutch kit in it because of belt slap. It fixed the belt slap by putting a small amount of engine braking in the secondary clutch. So we toke my xp and his with the dura clutch down a hill together and the engine braking was the same. We where using radios and would lift off the throttle at the same time and they both held the same speed going down the hill.

I have a 2019 ranger xp1000 north star what would that clutch system cost.sounds good for plowing snow.

Its the helix in your secondary. Change it and that problem will be gone. A friend put a duraclutch in his machine and is sending it back to the factory for the 3rd time in less than 2 months.

So what's wrong with the Helix what do you change it to? And what was wrong with the duraclutch that they kept having to send back?

@@generaldreamsoutdoors43 Mine and another guys were doing the same thing as yours especially going down hill when you let off the gas. I describe it as surging. Tried several things from belts to springs and swapping clutches with another machine that was ok until we narrowed it down to the secondary then swapped things around till the only thing left was the helix. Ordered a couple of them from Venom and put them in and it fixed both machines. By the way we contacted several polaris dealers and talked to their mechanics and non of them knew what was causing it. Acted like they never heard of it but i know of 4 machines that have had the same problem. Helix cost around a hundred bucks compared to the cost of new clutches. I'm 'm not sure what all is going with the duraclutch but if I talk to the guy I'll ask him and let you know.

I have a 2018 rzr 900 s that’s doing the exact same thing, which helix should I order? That surging and letting go over and over is driving me nuts.

The little bit of surging after you let off gas is built into the ecm. It gives just a little shot of pedal to try to keep engine braking engaged, if not it would slip straight into freespool, which it does anyway on most. That is just built into the newer rzrs after 18-19 I think. It is still there even if you change the helix, it may not be as noticable. Usually only does it going down steep hills, will also do it with any clutch that you happen to have because its built in the ECM.@@WyDnD

I now have 2 friends running the Dura Clutch and they are both happy. The one that I put one in this video I will be taking of in the near future to inspect closer on how it's holding up.

Everyone I know that has one says the opposite. Little to no maintenance worth every penny. I would say the only ones that bash on it are the ones that can't afford it. 🤷‍♂️

shoulda bought a Yamaha...... their belt drives don't do that.

I have owned two, they didn't surge, they just went to freespool, after belt was worn a little.
