Nice to see we once wanted the HAAS machine tool center but we are leaning in another direction for our first purchase nice to see this machine (they are good machines) doing its cutting for you. Thank you for sharing this with us. Lance & Patrick.

Where did you purchase your tool holders? I can’t find any good ones.
@MathIndy Жыл бұрын
Various places including eBay. You can also use 19mm holders if you don't mind the extremely minor difference between 19mm and 0.75"

How is this machine for noise? I've heard that Haas lathes tend to be loud? Thanks!

I wouldn't want it running if I was trying to sleep but, other than that, it seems fine to me.

Hard jaws to hold on to a finished ali surface?

It’s not by the book at all, but if it’s just a simple part, and it isn’t damaging it, oh well I guess

Good point but, yeah, don't clamp it too hard and there is no scuff mark.

Does anyone know if Lange Industries went out of business? I am interested in their gang tool holder but I can't contact them on the phone or have then reply to my emails.

I like that chuck stop. Did you buy it or make it?
@MathIndy4 жыл бұрын
The chuck stop is made by "Edge Technology" (www.edgetechnologyporducts.com). They also sell spare webbing and red plastic piece. I ordered extra red plastic so I could machine the red plastic centering web to exactly match the various lathes I have. This TL-1 will do 3000 rpm so I wanted this stop set firmly and exactly centered!

Hi, Just wondering if you made that little depth control gauge for the chuck or did you get it with the chuck? What size chuck are you using? What brand is it?
@MathIndy4 жыл бұрын
I think you are referring to the chuck stop set. They work similar to parallels in a milling machine. I got those from Edge Technology and they're very good. They have magnets so if you cut steel then beware of that. They come with different plastic inserts to hold things on center. I think I had to cut one of the larger plastic inserts to make it work perfectly with this chuck and you want it held on-center especially at high-RPM www.edgetechnologyproducts.com/chuck-stop-set/

I need a bigger garage.
@MathIndy4 жыл бұрын
This model will fit inside many garages. I like it because it has a really big spindle bore compared to other lathes in this class. Plus, you can always just part your car in the driveway--right? Thank you for subscribing!

@@MathIndy I've already got a Fadal 4020 in mine. I can add it but not provide service access around it, sadly. Spoke to the wife about pushing the garage back through our master bedroom and moving the bedroom somewhere else. Yeah, that didn't go the way I hoped.
@MathIndy4 жыл бұрын
@@snakedike Fadal is a nice machine. But, as you say, all these machines always take more room than just their outline. Granted I have been to some shops that pack their stuff together with little or no space between.

@@MathIndy No joke there. I even wondered if I could put the lathe on rigging skates and temporarily anchor when in use. But that's just a little too cheesy even for me.

hello, do you have the option 3000rpm spindle ? are you happy with this machine regards
@MathIndy4 жыл бұрын
Yes I do, the 3000 rpm spindle seems like a good option to have and this machine has a through spindle bore that is larger than most machines in this class.
