@NicChampagne5 жыл бұрын
It is annoying that the wheels on the Sport trim are not the same as what is shown in all the press coverage. Also, can you post more info about the winter tire and wheel package you were driving? Wheel brand/model, tire size? Love the show! I want the base model just to avoid the touchscreen radio, my fear is that in a few years it will be so sluggish/unresponsive when using CarPlay/Auto that it will be useless. I'll just use my phone instead.

I'm thinking about buying a PP. What are your thoughts about the ZF9 transmission? I've heard good and bad things.
@thecanadiancollector93524 жыл бұрын
@@terence4427 I'm not worried about it. Honda uses it in the Pilot as well. The Pasport is lighter. Should be less work for the transmission. I did read that the stop start feature that turns the engine off at red lights for example and starts it up again when you press the gas can cause a problem with motor mounts. Wonder if the transmission is also negatively affected. I turn it off every time we use thr Passport.
@melissa44554 жыл бұрын
The Canadian Collector how do you like the ride quality? What other vehicles did you test drive before you bought the passport? Any regrets?
@thecanadiancollector93524 жыл бұрын
@@melissa4455 we drove the volvo xc40, everything from Toyota the Rav. 4Runner and Highlander, Mini Cooper Countryman, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, lHyundai Sante Fe turbo, VW Atlas and Tiguan. Think that was all of them. No regrets on the Honda Passport. There isn't any concerns regarding the engine and transmission as Honda has used these in other vehicles for a while. 280 hp V6 with no turbo stuff to worry about. The Passport has tons of room for passengers and cargo. The ride quality is excellent very smooth. The 4 wheel drive system borders on legendary with torque vectoring left and right front to back. Lastly we got the Touring model which is top of the line. The stereo is fantastic. Good luck with your purchase. Test drives are free. Take your time and find what suits you best.

It’s a great SUV. Being a smaller Pilot makes so much sense. I’m so happy Honda kept the V6, these 2.0T’s sound so miserable and having VTEC is hilarious. Also, the AWD system is great, basically an SHAWD system. The drive modes are useful and change the DBW mapping and the RWD bias. My only gripe is pricing. It’s too expensive and too close to the Pilot. I wouldn’t lose my third row for this.

As someone who tested a 2018 murano, Rogue and Rogue Hybrid, here’s a snack size review. Loved the throaty growl of murano when hitting the gas to go uphills and zero g foam seats. Too big for my needs but oh those seats. Rogue Hybrid no spare tire, typical Nissan Rogue style cues but damn thing is heavy off the line. Needs a shot of Mountain Dew even in sport mode. Regular gas Rogue, much lighter off the line, throw the thing into sport mode and gunned it onto the highway hard enough to make the salesperson to grab the “ oh blank handle”. Regular Rogue more suited to my needs but I still have that hangup over the cvt
