It does, but I vastly prefer the looks (and additional interior/cargo space) of the Elantra GT/i30. Preferably the N version other countries get and for some reason Hyundai refuses to bring to the U.S.

If you want less rev hang and a snappier throttle response you should definitely try turning off the traction and stability control systems by pushing and holding the traction control button until it dings twice then put it in sport mode.

@@t28-h6j yeah it works, supposedly it makes better time with t/c on but it’s a hell of a lot more fun with both off. Mines lowered, on wheels, blowoff, exhaust, and an intake and it really doesn’t need anything else for a daily🤷🏻‍♂️ so much reliable fun for the money

Any car that disobeys the basic laws of symmetry is an automatic no-buy in my book. Knowing that my driver’s side door is longer than my passengers side door would drive me bonkers. I don’t know why they can’t just make it a four-door? The way they’ve integrated the rear passenger door looks quite smart, just do it on both sides!

It's called being different and "unique". It's this car's thing. If it's not something you prefer, then this is not the car for you. The Elantra GT Sport would be your best choice for similarity in performance with symmetry.

I have to say I completely agree, even cars where the center stack is canted slightly towards the driver triggers my OCD a bit. I know complete symmetry is impossible because of the steering wheel, but some cars get it more right than others...Mazda does a pretty good job.

They, Hyundai, just needs to stretch this platform out and make the Veloster a wagon...yes, a wagon. It's got the right profile and 3 inches longer in the wheel base (more rear seat room) and about 10-12" more out behind the rear seats would do this car wonders. If the Veloster were a wagon, I would go out and buy one now as I am currently looking and the only real wagon that fits my needs and price point is VW's GSW/Alltrack. (I'd buy a 2012 Saab 2.0t Aero SportCombi if more manuals were available). I don't care that the Veloster Wagon would be FWD, that is perfectly fine and the added wheel base would help with choppiness and improve overall ride. I need more money to influence shareholders to make this happen ASAP. #savethemanuals ; #savethewagons

I don't see how it couldn't be, but we don't know since it hasn't been released yet. There is one video with a couple of KZbin'ers driving a prototype in Canada, but there's no guarantee the production version will be as wild as that thing was...U.S./Canadian emissions requirements are still tougher than a lot of places in the world, including the EU.

You must not have been listening or watching closely but this car, like many other modern cars not tuned for all out sportiness (and some that are), suffers from rev hang pretty badly which really limits shift speed if you care to be smooth. And generally speaking with driving, the smoother you are, the less you upset the balance of the chassis , which in turn makes you quicker. Not an absolute statement but is very true most of the time. I am curious to know if the rev hang can be tuned out at all or if its more a result of a heavier flywheel that they used for the sake of fuel economy and everyday comfort/drivability..Because rev hang is super frustrating when driving more aggressively and totally unacceptable for the track or HPE’s etc.

yeah i think you are right, my 1.6L focus doesn't have that though, it's a lot quicker between gears and it's even less sporty than this one with 125hp

Rodrigo Terrasanta Ha funny you mentjon tbat..my wife and I owned a 2013 focus st for a few years and that so suffe4ed from no excessive rev hang either..I typically like Ford manuals of more recent years with the way they're setup and tuned etc. They do a good job (along with Honda and VW of making the most out of every single last HP the car has available to offer..and they all seem to understate their crank HP and torque figures to a larger degree than most manufacturers.
