Quarter-scale (go cart size) would be about the same speeds and be a third the price.
@truescalefpv40893 жыл бұрын
I tried to fpv with rc cars, one of the main difficulties is how far ahead you can see from a camera so low on the ground, which greatly hinders how well you can drive especially at high speed, i ended up realising it was not smooth a concept, but probably there could be some way to overcome the limitations. A Smooth track also helps for less camera feed shaky-ness

@poruatokin5 жыл бұрын
@Sho Yu Weeni Another person that totally misunderstands what F1 is. If you want to see close racing go and watch a one-type series. F1 on the other hand is a technical series where teams constantly develop the car and engine technology to be the fastest, most reliable and most efficient. That is why the constructor's championship is far more important than the driver's championship.
@poruatokin5 жыл бұрын
@Sho Yu Weeni Not at all because F1 has ALWAYS been a technical series. Nothing different now to how it was 50 years ago even though wearers of rose tinted spectacles always like to say differently. As for the "dorks" comment, don't be a twat, the engineering that comes out of F1 has pushed the boundaries on electrical energy recovery, aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, and materials technology. Forty years ago, you had teams running qualifying engines that would be scrap metal after a few laps. Now the teams are using 3 engines for a 21 race season including qualifying and practice. That technology filters down into the cars we drive today and maybe in a few years time when you are old enough you might be driving one too.
@Wylie2885 жыл бұрын
F1 isn't even racing. It's just a parade. It's gone the way of nascar. Everything puts it to shame

I used to race 1/8 scale in the late 90's. Top speed was 75 mph. These handle like go carts. With a really good setup ( 80% of racing ) it isn't super hard to drive. You get into a rhythm and know where to start the turn and where to let off the gas a little, from lots of practice. ( I raced for years in Electric and 1/10 Nitro before I moved up to 1/8 scale ) It takes very good hand/eye coordination but much of the skill is in car setup. We raced for 15-45 minutes depending on Main and a car would run 7-8 minutes per nitro tank,( as long as maybe 10 minutes if you ran it really lean ) so you had someone filling it up for you. I actually found 1/10 scale touring cars to be harder to drive than 1/8 scale myself but 1/8 scale has 15-20 mph higher speeds. 1/8 scale also cost a lot more. Every weekend I raced, I blew thru $150 minimum in tires, car wear, and fees. Motors are $500 ( high HP race ones ) and they get rebuilt every 2 races normally at a cost of around $150. Mine weighted 7 lbs or so and we ran Foam tires that are super grippy with the compounds put on them. Off Road racing was definitely much harder. 1/8 off road is close to as fast but the cars weight 8 lbs and dirt is slick.

just for the kit only $1200 Australian, then you need, 2 servos, engine, pipe, wheels, body. then you need tire truer, engine tools, set up kit, transmitter, receiver, batteries for receiver, transmitter, fuel gun, fuel and many spares, engine components, All up I would say close to 8 or 10K. being realistic. if you were to go racing.

This is the best R/C racing nitro powered, you really can hear thos motors. So much better than electric motors. A few suggestions. all cars should be required to carry on board cameras. Also, overhead camera is needed. as well camera for straight ways would also bring interesting shots. Make it REAL!

Not really better, but sounds better, electric is still faster on the track. I agree about having cameras on them though.
