So car review guys says i don't like sport mode cuz it turns of traction control and then complains about it downshifting slow and was lagy.... UHH try putting it in sport mode that's what its for! I have the 200s with the V6, the 9speed is designed to get you the best MPG it wants to always be in the highest gear possible to save MPG. You switch it to sport mode and most of that lag and slow downshift goes away. It then wants to stay in lower gears and keep RPMS up.

This man should have done this review with the Limited or Overland model. The Limited and the overland models would compare nicely to the other competition reviews. The Trailhawk Elite is in a league of its own (off-road). POOR CHOICE BY THE REVIEWER . I drive the 2019 Limited and I am very pleased these last 8 months, comfort, design, engine performance (v6 3.2L) and the 4x4 in the Limited model is great for my Western New York winter that has hit us so far. I originally was looking at the Trailhawk but I have a family now and a budget. 4x4'ing (off road) in any Vehicle will cost you money and my bright white limited with chrome rims, less aggressive tires (MPG) and panoramic roof is my stress reliever these days. its a treat to drive! We have a 2019 Trailhawk and it’s just now turning up to 30,000. Miles and we love it so much. It has a plate underneath the transmission so it’s not too easy to steal or take parts off of it. It’s a 9 speed transmission and a 6 cylinder turbo motor with good gas we just float on the ground. We live on a mountain and if we have to leave it there and get away from it for our own safety this car will do the job. We love the fact that nobody can steal the catalytic converter or anything under our vehicle. 😊

I have no clue why I watch reviews from Redline Reviews whenever a FCA product is being evaluated. Even the Trackhawk GG was not enough to garner your satisfaction. This Jeep is in a class alone. Only 4WD Lo available in the States in it's class. Gives you 2 top engines. Your "favorite" thing to have on a car, a pano roof. I loved that you called the 9HP ZF trans garbage in this review, but said NOTHING of the sort when tested in Honda/Acura products. I like all his videos on cars but he doesn't really understand what it is about Jeeps. When he first starts the video he says the trail rated badge is because of the tires, later he also mentions the 4X4 options. The trail badge means it has skid plates to protect against rocks, also has the air filter in a position to stay dry for water crossings, a transfer case for lower gearing to crawl out of places you get stuck in with regular gears. On the Cherokees you have the option to electronically lock rear end to a posi. Watching his videos I know he likes the Porsche and BMW's for powerful motors, Jeep is made for trails first and being comfortable on paved roads second. I love my '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 318 motor, it is so comfortable on and off road. It takes care of me in Colorado for the last 20 years. Once you own a Jeep, you learn to appreciate what they can do. If you just want to drive on the streets buy a Honda, hehe. Sorry, I had to throw the last part in, no offense to Honda lovers. I can take my Jeep up mountain trails over boulders with ice and my Jeep doesn't slip but if I have to get out and unlock a gate, I can barely keep my feet under me.

Informative. But I don't understand why the host keeps referencing Rav 4's, CRV's and others as equal comparisons. This Jeep Trailhawk should be presented with an emphasis on its 4x4 off road capabilities. That is where the focus should be. It is the soul of this version of Cherokee. The gentleman should have presented a non Trailhawk Jeep, for that is where this review was predicated on. Glossing over the 4x4 capabilities of this version of the Cherokee, does it somewhat of a disservice.

I just traded in a 2014 Trailhawk for the 2019 Trailhawk Elite. This Vehicle presentation was better then the Dealership's Salesman's presentation. Yeah, there are a plethora of contradictions in this review. And for the record, I've owner a Cherokee Trailhawk for over six years, and the tires that come on these vehicles are some of the best in the business. The provide great performance, are not noisy in the least provided you rotate them regularly and keep your alignment in check (as with any tire), and they last forever. I replaced my first set at 65K miles, and not because they were worn out, but only because I was going into winter and thought a fresh set was a good idea. I have 30K miles on the second set now, and the last time I had it in for service the dealer said they could not see any discernible wear on the tires. They are quiet on the highway (no drumming noise that this idiot alludes to). I agree that the ride is very quiet, comfortable and calming. It's a relaxing vehicle to drive, yet can take you just about anywhere regardless of the conditions.

Not perfect, but for most drivers it will perform just fine. The 0-60 is equal between both vehicles, however the turbo accelerates better beyond 60. For kicks, I will take the new 2019 turbo to the strip and see how it will compare to the 14.803 @ 93.06 I was able to squeeze out of my 2015.

I leased a 2017 Trailhawk, after 4 trips to the dealer they finally fixed my transmission so it doesn't jolt me out the front window! With that said I have driven some other CUV size models and am liking this one more and more. However, I still leased it and will likely get out early, but I have no idea what I really want. I want a PHEV with most of these features you can get on the Jeep, but its not happening so far. The lack of instant acceleration does suck! The PHEV's are instant with no gear shifting, but you give up power and features so not ready for that just yet. Nice review! I love the ventilated seats and many do not offer it, well in my price range! I am just thinking of keeping the Jeep for 15 years, but not sure it can make it, I do drive low miles....

I own a ‘17 Cherokee with the Tigershark & I can honestly say, that 9 speed is honestly terrible & when letting off the gas it doesn’t want to up shift...also, when leaning into the throttle 3/4, it basically drives as if it’s being floored - it will reach the rev limiter & show no difference from when being floored, the 9 speed is ok around town though, I just don’t like the simple fact that it revs horrendously when not even provoked...other than that, the Tigershark is a pretty good sounding engine & that’s about the only positive thing I can say!

That's insane, the 2014 flat refuses to downshift above 20 mph, but flops in and out of 2nd and 3rd. I really need to test someone elses. Although, I have the 3.2L, so maybe they are tuned completely differently.

You lost me around me 2:30 when you said ,“I really like the wheels and tires you get on the trailhawk..... I mean, this is what makes the Cherokee trial hawk an actual off road vehicle” ..... never mind the rear locker, or the lift..... I know you know that the tires and wheels have nothing to do with what makes trailhawk anything special.....tire barn solves that problem.

My 2014 transmission was damaged by it's insane shifting at low speeds before they fixed most of the issues with software...so the old ones are literal garbage now, as they have to be thrown away. @KevinSmith-qi5yn6 жыл бұрын
I think there are 3 main issues with the 9 speed. First is that some things on this platform adjust to the driver like the throttle body and the vehicle needs to be driven for a while before it makes those adjustments. So a first time behind the seat experience isn't good. Second is that it's tied to the stability control. For instance if you floor it with the wheel slightly turned or if you are coming to a stop, there will be a noticeable delay. You can get around this by turning off the stability control. Third is that the space really can't accommodate a complex transmission. Anything over 6 speeds is pushing it with a transverse axle.

I love redline reviews, but Sofyan hates on FCA always. I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite w/ the 2.0L Turbo and its been a great vehicle. 30K miles and no issues at all. The only knock is that there is a slight delay with the transmission, but Sport mode greatly improves that. I would recommend for a good review of the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, check out TFL, as they have done quite a few videos reviewing this vehicle, on road and off road.

You do realize his comments are not based on "hating" but based on statistics. He doesn't have a personal issue with the brand but is simply stating an opinion based on what the statistics show which any proper reviewer should do. The fact that your one vehicle out over 100,000 vehicles sold is doing fine doesn't mean the vehicle is as a whole a good vehicle. I'm glad yours is working though and hope for the best with your purchase.

I agree. The Cherokee was actually a bit of pioneer when it came out in 2014. My 2014 Trailhawk has driver assist and tech features that some of the luxury CUVs have only started touting in the past couple of years. In that regard, Jeep was ahead of their time with the Cherokee at its price point.

Bought one with a 3.2 which is the better engine. The vehicles is very good for the most part. I do hate the automatic engine shutoff when you come to a stop, I am sure whatever your saving in fuel is not enough to cover all the starter motors you would have to buy. It could have more entry room constantly banging knees on dash and more headroom. The gas mileage is average for this type of vehicle, gas tank way to small.

Watch any other review of this. It’s pretty well regarded. Typically like his reviews, but he seems to be harsh on FCA products. The same ZF 9 speed he calls “garbage” here doesn’t even get mentioned in Honda/Acura reviews.
@BeingMe235 жыл бұрын
@@PdotHall I am sure Honda wants to keep its reputation high as usual. Plus they probably required different shift points and better throttle making so as to give the trans a better response.

It's the same 9 gear transmission that is used at Honda/Acura and Land Rover /Jaguar as well. So FCA maybe couldn't make it smooth.
@ryanshannon77035 жыл бұрын
Is this the same 9spd ZF that's in the Fiat 500x? I ask because my wife has that and in Normal/Auto mode it will sometimes 'stall' when slowing to a creep at a light, but let's say trying to accelerate back into traffic for a right turn. The problem (characteristic?) goes away when engaged in any other mode, or in the 'manual shift' mode. Honestly, I think manual mode is the most reliable way to drive with this transmission, but if I wanted to do that I'd just up and buy a proper manual transmission. The other option would be 'sport' mode, but I don't need it to keep 4500 rpms in 3rd gear going 45mph on a city street. I think it's really a result of the Transmission Control Module/Unit programming in Normal or Eco Mode (whichever the Cherokee has equipped). The problem definitely isn't present during the manual shift cycling, nor is it present in Sport or 'Traction' mode. I think either ZF or FCA tuned the transmission way too conservatively for the typical daily modes and just called it a day.
