The cast joking about apple juice rings a dim bell in my memory. Finally, this video shows up in my recommended and the sight of Seb in the place where J2M have so many panels is utterly jarring. Aaaaand this is why convention panels and interviews need MODERATORS. And actual....interviewers. It's not the celebrity's job to host an entire hour of content by themselves. I feel bad for him and this awkwardness lol

there were plenty of fans lined up to ask questions. I really have no idea why he thought he needed to do something else? (BTW have you been to smaller cons like this? I've never seen a moderator at the conventions I go to, but they're a different format than the giant SDCC type events) (honest question - not trying to be snippy or anything! But the Supernatural cons aren't moderated like the huge events)

@@Kreespa I mean, I've seen videos from plenty of smaller cons from cities that aren't San Diego where panels are moderated. Even if you go to tiny, tiny panels, there is usually a moderator, or an MC, someone who is there to be the buffer between the celebrity guest/person of interest and the crowd. I mean even if you go to press releases or something, there will be a person there fielding the questions and smoothing the process along.

This isn't the case at events like the Creation Supernatural (or Star Trek, Riverdale, Stranger Things, etc.) conventions. JIB is run more like those single fandom cons, where fans line up at the microphones and directly talk to the guests. I've been to over 70 conventions, and the only one that's had moderators has been Rhode Island Comic Con. I'm sure Sebastian is more used to the moderated panels, but that doesn't mean that every convention needs moderators. This is simply a different style. If you take a peek at some of my other videos (not from JIB, but from other conventions) you'll see how they flow rather well without moderators. And since that's the format I'm used to, I think a moderator would completely ruin the experience at JIB. It sort of IS the celeb's job to entertain the audience for the entire panel - that's why they get paid and don't tend to do conventions for free So, agree to disagree? :)

I was thinking the same thing. I was feeling for him, and even though everyone was pretty respectful, this still got increasingly uncomfortable to watch. Some actors, like Mackie, are naturals, but I got the sense that this scenario wasn't what Sebastian thought he was signing up for: an introvert's worst nightmare. Probably sweating buckets when he finally got offstage. But all that said, I guess that's why Marvel pays 'em the Big Bucks.
