Great to watch but it sounds like there's a mic sitting next to the shoreline mixed in for some reason? Really weird and bizarre sounding hearing these soft lapping waves in the coverage

Idea for next season: make the daggerboards in some bright color so viewers can see them moving more easily. Actually, while we're at it, have the crew wear some color that contrasts with the hull color.

How about some explanation of the penalty? Race 2 at start France come thru up wind of china at speed , did china try to luff them up? , doesn't look like it and besides room an opportunity to clear France , with Japan up wind they had no choice. Yes overtaking boat but at these speeds the rules have to have different allowances. Dunno , I would like explanations as without it it all bull. The umpire could calls the penalty # out of the rule they broke so we can look it up etc. Ok update it was the China lugging up , but on a reaching start it's a weird rules application because are they sailing the fastest course to the mark? I still think it's bull. Cheer warren

I definitely did not understand the Race 2 start. Looked to me like Japan and China jumped the start line and did not get penalized, while France made a perfect start...and then got a penalty.

Shame the first half of race 1 is cutoff, but I've really appreciated the quality of the coverage overall this year, SailGP has been overall easy to follow (as someone who came over from watching a lot of motorsport, and also spent a fair deal of time on the water in my youth); special thumbs up to Matt Cornwell commentating. I found it interesting that some new graphics seemed to be added to this broadcast compared to previous races; e.g. the strip of information showing foiling height, roll, tilt, etc. Some of that info seems really useful, other parts I'm not sure what to do with; maybe that info will get explained better in time, or maybe the graphics package will keep evolving. I'm certainly excited to see where SailGP goes after a great season 1 👍

we see the crew gibing and tacking during the practices. we don't need to see that during the race, we want to see the race not 1 boat shots

Great sailing. But the semi-literate Ustrayan commentator and his lame vernacular are far beneath a race series like this. He might be good calling a drunken fist fight behind an Aussie boozer, but not SailGP! Thank goodness he doesn't feature in the 2021 races. Some nice graphics here; and I love seeing the cutaway of the boats and what's inside them. Thanks.
