Thankyou for showing the engineering behind this Maserati. I for one am so glad Maserati put so much effort into the mechanics and refinement of this vehicle instead of concentrating on a new interior.....who cares about the interior ..it is all about how it drives anyway.....I would trade a new digital radio for a better suspension setup any day of the week.

It may have Chrysler parts bin parts in it, but if you've not been in a Chrysler lately, they actually have pretty nice switching anymore. While not ideal for an exotic car brand like Maserati, it does at least allow them to put money towards things that matter more while rebuilding their brand -- like drivetrains and style. Designing things like turn signal stalks and window switches cost an obscene amount of money for what you get out of them. There are smarter ways for them to spend.

@paulj98215 жыл бұрын
They used 4 main parts yet here you are acting like the whole vehicle is nothing but binned dodge parts. Oh and BTW Audi, BMW, Mercedes does this on there vehicles as well. This is standard industry practice. The only mistake FCA makes is nothing bothering to hide some of the binned parts like the Germans do. For instance the window buttons on a Audi are the same as VW. In the Audi they will use a slightly different mold on top of the VW one. Point being the parts are all the same but disguised as being completely different. So stop calling them cheap parts since most the shared parts aesthetically come from Mercedes when they owned Chrysler.

@@paulj9821 cool story. Meanwhile you can take your 100k and buy an LC500 that has one of the best interiors on the market. I love Maserati. While simultaneously chuckling that that they're using the same infotainment system as the Dodge dart I see parked outside the methadone clinic every Wednesday at 8.
@WavveBoi5 жыл бұрын
@@paulj9821 and if Maserati has no qualms about selling you Dodge Durango parts in your cabin what about what you don't see? Like wiring harnesses, fuses, oil pumps, fuel pumps, etc. Maserati loves selling the illusion of a premium product without premium quality. So they put all the money into sensory input. Handling, ride, power, and sound.then your ECU decides to have a stroke 3 years later.

Many do know better - they’re not so clouded by pure brand loyalty as you may think. The drive is genuinely worth it in many Maserati models (Ghibli notwithstanding). Just look at the GranTurismo; it’s running on an architecture that’s over 10 years old, using interiors and components that were from (arguably) one of the most troubled eras in Maserati history, and they still cost a metric ton, but the drive is surreal. The sound, the response, the style - it’s all there.

I don't see how the interior in this is inferior to that of a Cayenne. Most modern luxury cars have absolutely repulsive interiors with screens plastered all over the place (Audi, Range Rover). This does it better than almost anyone else, in my opinion. Then again, I've always been someone more bothered by the aesthetics and shape of an interior rather than the softness of the materials. Anyway, normally I'd take a Trackhawk but if not available I'd buy this thing in a heartbeat. I like it a bit more than the Cayenne and we all know that costs of maintenance and reliability and crazy in this segment, so if I'd make a stupid decision, might as well go with my heart's desire.

Stop acting like y’all don’t know that ! I just got out of a 2014 benz today that had the exact same headlight controls and window controls. Nobody know anything about cars at all. The leather , the stitching, and the quality like y’all said is there ! The interior isn’t a letdown. It’s just DESIGNED too much like a chrysler but the parts as far as leather , and and materials are ALL TOP CLASS. Mark gets into all the stitching and the details about the interior more than that other guy .. that should have been noticed “this interior overall design isn’t striking , BUT the interior QUALITY is there, the leather choice, the headliner , and it’s even soft at the bottom of the doors. “ something like that.

But what we can do is building the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography and the Jaguar F-pace SVR with 550hp V8 engines that make the most glorious sound ever known to cars. At the same time they need to have styles unique to the heritage of their own brand”. Engineers at Maserati: “The first generation Infiniti EX/QX50 is a really nice looking car...... except the front end. We are going to almost copy the rest and only redesign the front. Let’s use the platform that is rooted back to 20 years ago. Let’s knock on the door of the office next to ours to see if those Ferrari guys would lend us their engines. And we don’t have time to design every single part of the Levante. Let’s call the Yankees in Detriot and ask them to give us all the parts we have not yet designed. In terms of build quality and interior design, look at Chrysler 300c Platinum, that’s our standard. Okay, we have not done much work and there are still a lot of things left to be perfected on the design. But the meatballs are done so we have to go now. Ah let’s set on a price before we go. $140,000 sounds fine enough. Here at Maserati, we pride ourselves on our office kitchen that can cook really good food. This is exactly right, the second reviewer said it. I really enjoy my Levante S, having been a long time German car owner with VW, Mercedes amd BMW. And also did a bit shop around when I wanted to upgrade into a more luxury range, tried Cayenne S and Mercedes AMG43, and eventually chose Levante S. This car is a perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. The Italians has a very nice touch on the tuning of sports cars and they know luxuy goods. You will know when you drive one. And the other thing is that the interior is actually very comfy, they use leather every where and its not as bad as you'd think seeing in the review videos. The itlian luxury is not just visual, but also the soft touch, the bumper tuning and the sound systems.

whats the "bumper tuning" . And yeah i agree. Its also not priced ridiculously. The aston martin DBX is 250k CAD, 210-220k USD and isn't as good as the levante GTS (140k CAD). The aston martin DBX sure has a better interior but it rattles and has quality control issues. Sure it has a 4.0TT AMG engine in it but it isn't enough . You could get a GLC63 for 110k or a GLE63 for 140k if you wanted the amg engine and both are better built. The levante alone is worth it because you get the ferrari engine. Basically one of the cheaper ways to get a ferrari engine and you can get it in a suv for what a GLC63 costs. The aston martin dbx is a failure at 220-250k . Never driven the levante S

And they were reaching for Renault. I said "get your filthy paws off my baby". I kid you not, I love my Renaults, they do their job, what I could not ever say about Fiat and all the others. You don't even know anymore who's under that moniker. It's like a debrand, already. Very sad that Maserati is with them too. Oh well, they were never that good. Although this review re-established some excitement.

I look forward to every Savagegeese crew video not just for his take but what new filming method he will use. Loved the intro and the out of focus shifts. Just amazing work as always guys. As far as Maserati is concerned, once they loose the Ferrari V8s, they are even more DOA. My question for Savage is this or Trackhawk for your SUV death machine.

a 2 year old GTS is going out the door @ $75,000 with 13,000 miles. After the 1st owner depreciation hit, this platform might be a "sleeper". A valid alternative to Jag/Land Rover/German products imo

I want them to try out an Agera or Jesko someday. I want them to experience power beyond power.

For 140K you should get both performance and interior...always.

Jack Singapore makes for a MUCH more compatible cohort compared to Turbowski! Turbowski is about as exiting as watching grass grow. And about as engaging as a burned out clutch! Sorry, sad but true. Jack is much better!

I would prefer a well scewed together interior than a flashy one that has more rattles and squeaks than a baby creche. Besides I thought the interior looked OK, Porsche's have a pretty plain interior too.
