You can take it to the dealer and they will literally disconnect the adaptive learning from the transmission. I’ve read several articles of people having this done and their transmission issues went away. This is simply done by plugging into the computer and pushing a button.
@Red5oh3 жыл бұрын
Yup I did that last year and they said they found a corrupted file in adaptive learning software. It got fixed after they deleted. Though I’m starting to experience it again occasionally so I’ll take it in for them to look at

I legit just bought this car yesterday. and its doing the same issue but the weird part about it, is that when its drive there no problem when you put it on sport you feel the jerking and the transmission hits.
@Red5oh3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the transmission can be quirky and has issues but mostly related to the software. Have you tried taking to the dealer yet?
@rudymorales73502 жыл бұрын
In sports mode, the transmission will not skip any gears, so at low speeds it will seem more "jerky" bc it's running through every gear. I think if you floor it in sports mode it will be smoother. With that being said, the shifts themselves should NOT be harsh. In regular Drive mode the gear shifts should be smooth bc the transmission skips gears to be more efficient.
@Hindryx2 жыл бұрын

@@Red5oh I brought to their attention and of course, they couldn’t replicate the issue. It doesn’t do it all the time, just at random times and soooo annoying. @Red5oh4 жыл бұрын
warren bartlett I know man it can be frustrating! As far as jerks on downshifts I think that’s normal as most cars I’ve driven that have sport mode or more than 6 gears it can be a little jerky but not violent. But your issue with upshifting jerk I’d take it to the dealer to be safe. Mine shifts smooth when upshift. I’ll get firm shifts in sport mode but nothing violent or jerky. I’m assuming it’s under warranty?

Just upgraded from my 17 6 speed GT to a 19 10 speed GTCS. On the sport+ drive mode, the shift are so harsh and jerky that my foot ends up off the gas and then pushing into the gas. Reminds me of when I first learned standard and the clutch didn’t fully bite/engage so I would get this jerky movement until it stalled - ah the nostalgia. Hopefully it’s just very minor issues like the computer needing to relearn how I drive. Just got it yesterday and those harsh shifts on S+ are not fun
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
Yeah sport and sport plus modes can be very harsh but they should be firm and shouldn’t feel like trans is resistant gear change. These cars definitely learn driving behavior so it could be that. Congrats on the upgrade! What made you switch from manual to automatic?
@DavyDave13132 жыл бұрын
@@Red5oh been driving it just on D and it’s smooth - so I’ll keep driving and hopefully S+ smoothens out. Getting an H pipe installed right now I’m excited to hear the difference! If I’m honest, I enjoyed the 6 speed a lot but I was never super good at it. I never gave it enough gas for fear of wearing out clutch so at stoplights/stop signs I would always be sluggish which after 3 years became very annoying. Tried a newer 6 speed with revmatch it felt the exact same. Tried the 10 speed and I instantly loved it. Now that the normal drive mode is smoothing out it’s even more fun to drive
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
@@DavyDave1313 H pipe will definitely bring out the American muscle sound out of your stang! As far as 10 speed I think it’s a pretty great transmission. In my 2020 mustang gt, I haven't noticed any shifting issues. Maybe there is a programming difference between the 19's and the 20's? The only thing I can think of is that whenever you are in drive or sport mode and the computer is shifting for you, when you are going from 3rd gear to 1st gear, it sort of jerks. This happens when you are trying to stop at a red light. For me personally, the car skips second gear and goes straight from 3rd to 1st.
@Red5oh4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that jerk I experience in the car too but I think that’s normal as it downshifts for you. This issue pretty much slams it hard. Hey man how you doing I have the same car in white , was wondering why my car is always so jerky when driving especially when coming to a stop it kicks hard down to first gear , ima take it in and hopefully it’s that !
@Red5oh3 жыл бұрын
Hey awesome color choice they contrast really well. 10 speed can be a bit jerky so I see what you mean. I occasionally feel the weird behavior. If it’s under warranty I’d get it checked out so at least it’s documented

have you noticed the car having issues in turns ... in effect putting car in a modified limp mode untill you shift the car to nuetral and back to sport mode?
@Red5oh4 жыл бұрын
No I haven't encountered that. Are you tracking your car or maybe autocrossing? As the transmission and engine cooling may not be sufficient putting the car in limp mode
@maskedmechanicz20864 жыл бұрын
Probably an electronic issue I'm guessing too. A reflash may help. One thing to remember though is that under hard acceleration your line pressure with be high to match rpm and your shifting will become harsher which protects the transmission from slippage. Especially when multiple gears drop at a time.
@Red5oh4 жыл бұрын
Masked Mechanicz yeah that’s what I’m hoping a quick reflash would help out. Interesting point I didn’t know that so it could be partially that and may need reflash to just smooth it out as much as possible
@mathew5956 Жыл бұрын
Interesting point, can u elaborate further using simple english? - as vehicles commonly shift harshly if there is dirty fluid, low fluid level, so given its only happening in one gear, tells me that its something to do with the valve body if it happens in one gear. Or yes Electronically related.

Does a light warning come on if your low on transmission fluid ?

@@Red5ohyes. I have a 2018 mustang ecoboost with 18k miles. I noticed when I shift only into reverse it jerks. You could feel it jerk hard. It doesn't do it everytime I shift into reverse but it's on and off that it will do it. my first thought was low on transmission fluid. also when i let go of the brake when moving slightly it makes a wierd noise like a squeking sound when i move the car in reverse or foward with my foot on the brake and letting it go slowly.. any thoughts?
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
@@koalaluv6894 not sure about the noise but 10 speed tends to jerk harshly sometimes when putting it in D or R. Mines been fine but I’ve rented couple Ecoboosts that had this issue. Are you still under warranty? Normally a software update fixes it
@koalaluv68942 жыл бұрын
@@Red5oh I figured out the brake noise. The rotors are have some rough groove. Probably need to be smothed out. It is under warranty and ill def schedule an appointment just in case. But ive never owned a 10speed before so if you say it's normal for it to jerk in reverse or drive then maybe im over thinking too much.
@Red5oh2 жыл бұрын
@@koalaluv6894 that’s good hopefully that will take care of the noise! As far as transmission it’s a normal issue not normal behavior. Dealerships can update the software and it fixes the problem. I would definitely schedule an appointment to get that taken care of

Mine was minor a bleeder screw that went bad. The 10 speeds are bulletproof. Probably may have been the gas you used. I had a slight problem of putting bad gas in which result in the computer missing shifts. Once I took bad to the dealer.
