Hi, please, answer me : Is it Ok to make WINDSURF(not Wingfoil). I can get this one for a good price. I never tried WINDSURF, it is ok to start (in 142L version).

Hi Avenir. If you have never done any windsurfing before I would suggest getting a board with a centre dagger board first. If you have the basics covered then this board would work ok but you will need to know how to stay up wind first. Thanks Reuben

I have one of these boards that needs some cosmetic fixes from harness hooks in the pvc decking, can it be repaired with standard two part epoxies and epoxy class like a surfboard?
@SUPboardermag2 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely as long as its an epoxy glue like you have said.

can you do a side by side with the Starboard Hyper Nut 4 in 1? They look very similar in specs but I'd be interested in which excels in each discipline.
@SUPboardermag4 жыл бұрын
That would make a very good test. We will look into this in the future. I think it would be really close between the 2 boards. Thanks for the suggestion. Reuben

I look forward to checking out that comparison! Could you also include the F One Papenoo Convertible too?? I'm really torn between them all 😁

So, this board is good for sup foiling, wave surfing, windsurfing. If I understand correctly, I need a longer mast to enjoy windsurf foiling and WING foil?
@SUPboardermag2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ming, sorry for the slow reply on this. A mast length of about 75-85cm is good to use in flatter waters. A longer mast like 90cm is better in choppy waters. I personally prefer the shorter masts. Thanks Reuben

Question: So would a taller mast offset the disadvantages mentioned in the review, regarding windfoiling?
@SUPboardermag6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mert - Yes to SOME extent - the taller mast will help for sure in giving you more room to fly, and make this better for wind foiling BUT its still a Surf Foil and there are some key differences between the two - on a windsurf foil the balance point needs to be different, so you see the mast joining the fuselage at a different point and you also see higher aspect foils for improved speed. This package is still great to get into foiling on though.

Hi there Reuben! I picked up one of these used to try some different foiling disciplines. It came with a 2018 Thrust WS1 (dedicated windsurf) foil which has the mast really far back from the front wing - so it looks way too far forwards on the board (even when correctly positioned right at the very back of the dual fin boxes). Will I need to swap this foil for a Surf model in order to windsurf this board?!

Hey Rob thanks for your comment. As you know I got back to you on email. 🤙Thanks Reuben

@@SUPboardermag Hi Reuben Many thanks for the email. I managed to pick up a 2019 KS/Surf fuselage which pulls the whole setup back 100mm so will give it a go at Torpoint next suitable wind and let you know how I get on!

Does it work on twin fin as a regular windsurf?
@SUPboardermag5 жыл бұрын
Not for flat water blasting as the fins are too small, but fun for 'float and ride' wave windsurf in light wind.

You may have mentioned this in the review, but do you know the weight of the board without the foil? Interesting concept, I just worry the board would be a brick.
@SUPboardermag5 жыл бұрын
o , all the weights are on the SUPboarder post here : www.supboardermag.com/equipment_guide/2019-naish-hover-crossover-120/ but 9.5kg for the board alone. It felt really pretty light for a board that had footstrap inserts and a foil box. I remember being quite impressed with the board weight. Thanks Reuben

You need to be in some deep water to ride this foil? Seems like most typical breaks you’d be hitting the bottom?
@SUPboardermag6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment - Yes, deep enough water is needed for the 55cm mast. However, the best waves we found for foiling particularly at beginner level were those NOT good for regular surfing or SUP surfing on, so getting deep water wasn't a problem - for instance when the tides too high so the wave never really properly breaks, because the waters too deep. If you are in the water with a load of short boarders you are probably trying to foil in the wrong type of waves and are going to make life hard for yourself as well as putting other water users in danger. To get on the foil, you just need the swell to peak a little and with good technique you can sprint ono the foil and ride the bump - well before the depth is shallow enough for the wave to break! Would you recommend it to use as a SUP without and with foil on the lake, in combination with the Wing Surfer?

It would perfect for it. You will be flying in no time.

I think the same...but not only with this board. The Windsurf boards are extremly expensive I think. In Spain we cannot aford this amount of money at all. But I get in love with that board

Way too expensive. Get one on craigslist for 1/3 of the price. You're welcome.
