Guys, as a owner of 3 different maxima gens with the CVT, drove all of them hard, even took them to track, all cars combined total of almost 300k miles, none of them had any transmission issues whatsoever. Bought all of them as brand new. Still performs like new. Just take good care of these things, and it’ll treat you well

Just leased a maxima sv. Yes it has a cvt, but they are tuned differently than other nissan models. It's still a cvt, but not nearly as bad as what my wife's rogue is. Maximas are fantastic for people who want a more exciting drive, but don't need something absolutely ridiculous. I did ALOT of test drives before I decided to go with the maxima. Imo the maxima was kind of the best of all worlds. Super comfortable, good power, great gas mileage for a v6, and I personally love the styling. Yes it has its flaws, but of all the cars I test drove and researched, the maxima just was the best of all of them

I have to agree. For the money, you get quite a bit of car, if you ask me. I love the "Gliding Wing" interior design as well. Overall, just a nice, comfortable and sporty car, which is really hard to find these days.

Lots of comments about the CVT but every person I know with one hasn't had any problems with it. One of my partners has a 2016 and he just got to 100k miles. Never had a problem. Like he always says, don't drive it like a race car, don't dog it out and you will be fine. He just did his flush and fill. According to him it's good for another 100k.

How'd they add all-wheel-drive and ProPilot assist to the new Altima but not include it in this "premium" Maxima ??

It's on an older platform than new Altima and doesn't support some of the tech needed for ProPilot. AWD... this platform is definitely capable of AWD but maybe its not cost efficient to add it until its redesigned.
@cerebralmindgame98185 жыл бұрын
@@dedreandixon4620 Even if it's an older platform of the Maxima, they could've made the last couple of years of this rendition a tweener upgraded model before the complete makeover. I've seen car companies pull this feat off before they made the new model years prior. I do agree that the strategy was primarily to be cost effective banking on the bold styling of the vehicle and preying on the naive shopper who might be unaware of the latest tech available. I disagree that they couldn'tve added the new features because the genius and ingenuity of these car makers is highly unfathomable.

u don't understand, I had this car for over a year and I know the gas consumption, in city I got only 16 mpg max normal driving nothing hard on accelerator in winter I got 11.5mpg bcs the CVT holds the rpms for too long due to cold and no gear shift so the fuel consumption is very high, only on highway I got 34.7 that's only bcs the engine works in constant speed which is obvious in any car, in highway drive u will get high mileage in any car regardless of the drive train!
