This is a review of my 2019 Nitro Z-19. I competed all year on the FLW Tour out of this boat, and even was leading AOY more than half way through the season out of this boat.

Were those 8’ or 10’ Power poles?

8’ Blades. I’m not a big fan of the 10’ models to be honest. I fish too many big lakes and in rough water the 10’ models have a lot of leverage to rotate on the bracket if the bolts aren’t tended to regularly. They are still a great product, it’s just I prefer the 8’ models.

@@SonarFishing appreciate the info! I’d been contemplating 8 or 10’s and I had pretty much the same concern with the 10’s. Curious if you’ve tried the tilt brackets from Hydrilla Gear? I know they’re just made to fold the anchors down during storage, but was curious about how they hold up when the anchors are tilted up on rough water conditions.

I currently have a 2017 Z19 I can tell you a hydraulic jackplate is a must with this boat. I love mine!!

Really slow boat. Why? I haven't owned a bass boat since late 90s but my 17 Nitro with 125 hp would crack 67 and I was one of the slower boats on the water. Now I see all these tourney boats that won't even crack 65. My good friend and competitor had a Bass Cat Pantera with a 150 and he ran around 76 and he carried a ton of tackle, etc. And let's not even talk about Blazer Boat speeds (fast as hell). Just curious why speeds have decreased.

I had a Cajun 185 with a 150 Hp Johnson faststrike . It topped out at 69 mph and only lost about 1 Mph with 2 guys. Although we were both skinnier then. 4 stroke engine produce less torque at higher RPMs. But have a lot of torque at lower RPMs. Great hole shots but probably a couple mph slower at top end. Also boats have gotten bigger , wider and heavier. People carry more gear , more electonics and heavier trolling motors. So yes boats are slower today. Unless you buy something like a Bullet , Bass cat or Blazer. If you look though. They are narrower boats . Weight less and companies like Bullet hand lay their fiberglass so they can better control how much material is applied in different parts of the boat to help reduce weight.

I've got a 2018 model Z19 that I tournament fish out of and it has been great. As you said, big enough, fast enough (68) and rides great. No problem, I don't think that you will have any trouble selling it.

I hear people bad mouth Nitro. I know several people with Nitros . They appear to be nice boats. I’m looking to buy a new boat on a budget. Nitro wasn’t my first choice. But I just looked up the standard features of the z19. It appears to be a really good value. I really hope I don’t regret it . If I buy one.

Really is a shapr boat, but my concern is all the complaints and issues with these boats. Leaning towards a New Vexus or Ranger, but I always consider a Nitro, just read so much about problems with hull cracks, engine issues, and interior problems, but nice to see you seem to like this boat. Great review!!

K E all I can respond with is that Nitro boats are at a different level then they may have been years ago. They certainly are worth considering, especially at the pricepoint they’re able to achieve. As far as the engine goes, Nitro doesn’t offer their own brand engine obviously, but rather work with Mercury to equip all their boats with those engines. All I can say is I’ve used a ton of engines over the years, and I’m by far most impressed by how powerful and seemingly bulletproof these new Mercury V8s are. That all being said, I understand the concerns you have, and all I can offer is my own experience with both Nitro and Mercury.

Vexus no question. Johnny Morris owns ranger now. All the people who gave a shit at ranger went to vexus. Ranger is now a bass pro boat like nitro. Quality control out the window. Vexus is the best designed boat out there. Also most expensive if you can afford the $100,000 price tag.

lol hull cracks? i have a z18 and have had it in 4-5 foot waves multiple times for up to an hour of running in it. i can assure u in the newest models 2016 and up you’re not gonna have any problems with a nitro... as far as ur motor concerns evanrude just went out of business and yamah can’t compete with the new mercury’s. the new mercury 4 stroke is insane..

@@Oldtrickshotss Sounds great, and glad to hear this. I am shopping for Bass Boat and have Nitro, SKEETER, and VEXUS VX20 on my list but did research on Nitro and their is endless repair complaints and warranty issues with this company and so many issues, but heck if you are running this new boat and having no issues, well that right there sounds good for me. Really are sharp looking boat. Appreciate the feedback. I like the SKEETER ZXR20 apex and Nitro Z20 so its between the two. Seriously thanks for heads up with Nitro. Yes 4-stroke absolutely the best way to go. I will stick with Mercury outboards, that is not a problem.

I gained 5 mph by switching to a Tempest with the same pitch as my previous prop on an 150hp Mariner that’s 36 yrs old. It’s been redone 120 on all cylinders.

Why do the pros get new boats every year? I understand being able to afford it or winning new boats. Just makes me wonder lol

Most pros get a new boat every year or two because the manufacturer who ever it may be will give a new boat to them in order to "promote" the company. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that's how it works. There are of course many other reasons they give them a new one every year but I cant name any others at the moment for some reason lol. Hope that cleared some things up.

An Average Sniper They are not “giving” pros boats. Only a couple pros get free boats.

They are expected to get a new boat every year by their sponsors. They get them for around half the price of what they normally are. They usually sell them for a little more than they pay for them at the end of the year so they make a couple bucks off them as well. Works out great.

How would someone who is 6' 3" fit under the console/at the helm?

I’m 6’2” and had no issue at all. I think Nitros have some of the nicest seating for tall anglers because the seats sit a bit higher than other brands.
