Maybe the broken component had a wide air gap, thank you for the TECH TIP video, I would have tried a bypass test waving a metal object in front of the sensor, cheers.

I have the same code on my 2016 Hyundai Elantra . I can only drive in reverse lol. I also had a code saying that I need new output speed sensor and I bought a new sensor and replaced it but still having issues. My car still won’t drive only in reverse. I need help lol I tried finding videos everywhere and I have no luck .

Find a good mechanic to diagnose it for you.

You need to know how to test power, ground, and signal back to the computer to be sure the wires are good, only use OEM sensors or you will be buying junk parts, and don't forget that some cars like yours also have ECM problems. You will need to do more research on the testing procedures for a 3-wire speed sensor without a scope unless you have a scope, and how to know if you have a bad sensor, wire, or computer. It's not as simple as you make it sound friend but it is also not too difficult even if all you have is a multimeter. OHM test is no good as you will need to load test the wires with a good test light or a stronger bulb but need to be careful on the signal wire mainly.

Any luck, my friend? My 2016 Ram Promaster 1500 is having the same issue. Only go reverse, when shifting to D, it auto-shifts to Neutral after 2 sec of idle. I think it might be the ECU.

@@kred2770 no sir, i got it towed to a transmission specialist and he said my car had internal transmission failure. He was asking for $6,000 to repair it. I said no way jose!! I got tired of trying to fix it so I just ended up selling it to a company that buys all types of cars that don’t work.
