@elmioutdoors3 жыл бұрын
i did consider it but the stability of the ranger blew me away on my previous tracker the co angler could not walk side to side fishing or stand on one side the boat tipped that direction on my ranger it does not they can run a marathon back there and I don't know they are doing it when I reel in my fish :)

I wanted to add is i did add a jack plate to my boat. I run the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. I needed it and most guys here run jet drive. I didnt want that. It makes my boat so much better with the jack plate. I run a 90hp on mine.

Nice boat and video! Ranger's website states you can only hold up to 7' rods in the side rod locker, but you mention you can fit 7'6" rods? How much room do you have with rods over 7' in there with rod socks? I'll have to check this boat out if it holds larger rods as I also like to store my tackle in the center of the boat.
@elmioutdoors4 жыл бұрын
there is not much room at all just able to get in and out and all my rods are 7 foot and longer except for my spinning setup that is 6'6" and I have 13 rods in there.

@@elmioutdoors , I went with the 188p. The closest dealership had a 198p but wouldn’t make any deals while other dealerships across the country were selling theirs for $3-5K less. I don’t need to be flying down the lake at 60-70 mph, fell off a tube going 30 and it hurts bad.
@Lowcountrytrucker4 жыл бұрын
Hows the fuel mileage on the 150? I'm looking at the 188P right now. But, I'm thinking about spending the extra cash and stepping up to the 198P. I like to cruise about 40 MPH. I'm trying to figure out if the gas mileage would be about the same because I'd be running at a lower RPM with the 150. 40 MPH in the 188 with the 115, you're running damn near wide open.
@elmioutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I can go forever on a tank of gas I can run wide open 55-57 mpg for an hour and the gas does not seem to drain I might use 10-12 gallons every hour at top speed but I am only guessing and i never run at top speed for more than 20 minutes at a time because I launch close enough to my favorite fishing spots i never have more than a 20 mile run to first spot. I hope this helps

Hello sir , I too call the volunteer state home . I live on Ky. Lake have a RT 188 w/115 Yamaha single ram trim just as yours is . I'm trying to figure out if the new type transom savers are really taking weight off the transom ? Any of your advice would help . I myself don't see how it could , so im trying to do some research . There's one made by DD26 Fishing that you really should take a look at , i know you love your Mywedge but you got to check out the DD26 Fishing one . Also want to tell you that , while doing research i have seen a couple pepole and mechanic at boat dealer say that the Mywedge was made wrong in that it doesnt have a bevel like shape on the end where it sits against where the piston comes out . They say they have alot of pepole come to shop with it leaking there because of it . It sits flat against something there and causes it to wear out i think .. I can't spell good so im sorry lol . But if im not mistaken there's a video about the DD26 Fishing transomsaver you could go to and see what im trying to tell ya cuz i cant explain .. and wanted to tell ya incase its true you dont mess yours up .. I hope you can understand all my crazy writing typing ect .

After reading your comment, I find it disrespectful to this man. He has every right to keep some fish if he wants to. His state laws permit such. It’s your right to put all fish back if you choose to do so. Do what you choose to do and leave this American Patriot alone. And to this man who made this video, I would like to say thanks for the video and thank you sir for your service to our country! Enjoy your boat and enjoy any meal that you catch!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Jone J I am a hunter gatherer and fisherman I may fish and catch 20-30 fish weekend or I might only catch 3, I don't keep all the fish i catch I wont keep the baby fish (under the state minimum) and I don't keep the 4-7lbs but in order to have a thriving population with giant fish in these areas I fish (lakes, ponds, river systems, reservoirs you must catch and take some smaller 1lb -3lb fish out of the system I am doing my part as a sport fisherman I keep what my family can eat in one meal (3 fish) or a limit for my state 10 black bass/large mouth, small mouth, hybrid or white bass and make 3 meals out of them .... I almost deleted your post but I thought this might be a teachable moment you may not know that you must take some runts out to let the big bass get bigger and by the way I like the taste of bass crappie catfish I have not bought any fish from the market in over 20 years. I hope this helps explain what and why I do what I do on MY boat you have a nice day Jone J this is Eldon saying stay safe my friend
@elmioutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@randolphray7896 As i stated before I only keep what is allowed on bodies of water that they encourage you to take the smaller fish out so that the larger fish can become trophies like they used to have back in the day. On the river system I dont keep any fish except crappie and catfish on lakes and ponds I also catch and release unless the state of Arkansas fish and game encourage us to remove the smaller fish so the bigger ones can thrive. then I take my limit and eat well.... have a nice day and be sure and take a kid fishing with ya :)
