@SweetLou05236 жыл бұрын
Still a few years out from a purchase, but I have always enjoyed watching Dean's walkthroughs. He is always passionate and proud of the product he brings to market and for good reason! I do have to say, however, one thing that has bugged me about Leisure products is the tech aspect where they are starting to lag behind by a wide margin. A few things I'm sure cross shoppers are considering that LT could stand to offer: 1. On a coach of that quality, lithium systems like Volta or Xantrex should be almost standard equipment; an option at the very minimum. Full timers know that Onan generators have a well deserved reputation for being unreliable noise makers that occasionally produce electricity. A lithium power system allows for energy independence and long term boondocking. It also means you can run that beautiful ducted A/C all night long without being plugged in, and without a noisy generator waking up the campsite. You already have a powerful, quiet, and far more fuel efficient generator under the hood, why not use it for the coach as well? Winnebago and Coachmen offer this on select B coaches and people go nuts for it! 2. Multiplex wiring. This is a biggie, especially on a big[er] coach. Having control panels in the common areas allows for full control over everything without having to wander around doing the light switch shuffle at bedtime. If coachmen is able to offer this on their lower priced Crossfit, surely a premium company like LT can integrate it on their upscale coaches? (Coachmen also offers an Onan free, lithium upgrade path as well. Food for thought!) 3. 2-way Compressor fridge. Propane fridges are also known for being fussy, and fairly unreliable. Moving to a compressor fridge (especially with a lithium package) would allow for long term unplugged camping without worrying about propane refills or leveling. (Correction on point 4: Leisure Travel does have a Transit based offering. My apologies for the oversight! I will leave point 4 intact as it provides some information for potential shoppers that may be unaware of the Benz chassis issues.) 4. A Transit based coach. Yes this is a moonshot at best, usually not easy for lower volume builders as it requires a lot of extra logistics, but a fair few RV buyers do not want the Mercedes chassis. A surprising number of Benz dealerships will not service the Sprinter platform, which makes an already small pool of service locations even smaller. Whereas Ford dealerships are almost as prolific as Starbucks. Maintenance on the Sprinter is much more costly than other commercial platforms as you are paying the same hourly rate for a commercial chassis as someone with a $150,000 luxury car. Crazy decision on Mercedes part. Also, the Benz diesel engine is known for a number of very costly emissions issues, as well as crazy expensive parts costs. I think the Transit platform will be the platform of choice for most builders over the next ten years, so having that choice as a buyer would add value to the LT lineup! I think Leisure Travel is second only to Advanced RV in build quality and finishing (but for what ARV charges, that is to be expected) and one of the best manufacturers on the market, I just hope they don't get left behind as the younger buyers come into the market looking for the combination of premium quality and tech integration. They have remained on my top 3 list every year as I continue to cross shop and narrow the field before purchasing. Frankly, I think I'm just dragging my feet hoping they will add at least a lithium system option because energy independence is one of my top criteria for a coach. Keep up the good work Dean and all at Leisure Travel, the 2019 Serenity is a beautiful coach! As always, I look forward to your next videos!

@@Trailblazers323 Coach House has a beautiful product to be sure, but they have some of the same issues. Their interiors are catering to the older side of the market and dont offer much to the younger buyers. To me, they are starting to look fairly dated. Leisure Travel at least is putting a massive effort into keeping the interiora fresh and exciting! Also, as far as I've seen on their videos, they still use 6v batteries in parallel as the coach batteries which is definitely a very old school way of doing it. As last I knew, no lithium options and no multiplex systems. They offer a quality product to be sure, they are doing what they do best, but they are not innovating as much as the younger market might like.

*advices* 1- make roof that hydralic goes up and makes a second floor with a ladder to climb to there 2- put all the interior boards, kitchen stuff on a hydraulic cube that spread to the sides of the van so will have alot of interior space 3- make the van as boat : put air bags on bottom of the van so they fill with air anytime you want to go floating on sea, also the tires change to horizontally position for more stability in water

I love watching these types of videos. I plan to make a purchase in the very near future. But I haven't decided which model to buy. My first concern is regarding the suspension on these vehicles. And how high it sits from the bottom of the vehicle to the road. The areas I travel have uneven dirt roads and it is important that I am able to navigate them without a ton of worry about damage to the undercarriage. I'm also interested in what kind of tiers are standard and if they can be/need to be switched out for more off road worthy tiers. And if the solar system can be upgraded for more power intake. Can I stay warm in the winter without burning out or using up all of my on board resources? Durability is key. As well as if there is an unfortunate accident. Where are the certified recommended repair shops located in the US. Once I make this purchase this will be my home. I'm wondering about costs for some services and maximum fuel capacity and MPG. Beauty aside, these are questions that must be answered before I can seriously take any type of model into consideration considering the over the top costs. Mr. Dean is a great salesman but there is some very important information not mentioned in many of his videos.

Dean, will LTV ever offer Lithium options, or an inverter larger than 1,000W, or multiplex wiring? Is auto generator start available? Love your designs, quality, and liveability, but it seems you're a few years behind the rest of the industry when it comes to electrical options.
@colormedubious47476 жыл бұрын
The Wonder RTB has multiplex wiring and AGS. I imagine it's coming to their other lines within a few design cycles. You can get larger aftermarket inverters and lithium batteries.
@clicks2flickswiththewiz5636 жыл бұрын
Colorme Dubious , sure, but I’m not gonna pay a premium price for a motor home, then commence the expense and time required for a major electrical upgrade to my brand new, under warranty coach. If it were that easy to install a larger inverter and lithium batteries, why doesn’t LTV at least offer them as factory-installed options?
@thomasdarby60846 жыл бұрын
Yes, Lithium batteries would be nice, along with a 2kw pure sine wave inverter. But there is one thing: Lead Acid batteries are tried-and-true, and when they fail after hundreds of charge/discharge cycles, replacements could be had for less than $300 for both, in just about any town. Try to get your Lithium power cells serviced in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
@clicks2flickswiththewiz5636 жыл бұрын
Thomas, I hear you, but that could be said for ANY newer technology. If that were the guiding factor in RV's, we'd NEVER see any new technology introduced. The reality is, Lithium batteries have been out for a number of model years, and while they're nowhere near as "tried-and-true" as lead acid, they're not exactly untested. They should at LEAST be offered as a factory-installed option, so the consumer can make the risk/benefit/cost decision on his or her own.

blair elander it is obvious that you could not understand what I was talking about before you got triggered. LTV offers expensive rigs for a small market, those who travel from Harvest Hosts to RV Resorts and Campgrounds.
