2019 STi Night Driving Review

I haven't seen many reviews of how the 2019 Subaru WRX STi is to drive at night, so here's one.

I just bought a 2019 STI and I love how fast the headlights move when you turn the wheel. It adds some cool factor to night driving for sure.

Once u get a tune ask them to take off the cold start that will definitely help

I have the same problem, I leave for work at 5AM with a loud car and get out as fast as I can. Dont want my neighbors to hate me

Yeah. There comes a point in one's life when you're an adult but you're still about that car life. Gotta make semi-reasonable decisions some times 😁

Hey again! Just picked up my car! HUGE difference in power. The throttle is more consistent and smooth. Zero hiccups like the stock tune. The tune I inquired was a conservative track tune. 91 CA is 339 whp 382 tq and E85 is 401 whp and 450 tq. With a peak boost of 19.1 psi. Overall initial impressions well worth the money. Will keep you updated with upcoming track days. Also don't hesitate to ask any questions. PS I'm the guy with the white 19' STI

Good God man! Those are really impressive numbers. Seems like the flex fuel kit is the way to go. If you don't mind, can you break down the cost of items, tune and install? I know I'm interested and I'm sure others would be interested to know too.

Everything I’ve read and been warned about, let your sti warm up before driving off. And let the turbo wind down before turning it off.

After driving it hard, I agree. If the ambient temperature is in the above freezing range, let the vehicle idle long enough for oil to fully circulate and get into the turbo. That should be less than 15 seconds at warmer temperatures and no more than 30 seconds at lower temps. If ambient temperature is well under freezing, you might want to give it a minute if you don’t park in a garage or you do not use an engine block warmer. Much less if you do. Your engine will reach operating temperature much faster if you gently drive it to operating temperature. Avoid jack rabbit starts, drag racing, high RPM, etc until the engine is fully warm and you will be just fine. Even with that turbo charger."

no car should be left idling from cold to "warm up", that is pretty well debunked, extended idling from cold only lengthens the amount of time the engine is running on cold oil, you should drive right away but not aggressively until warm.

I have Remark axlebacks muffler deletes on my 19sti.....honestly they are not that loud

I like drinking at night. Taking for a cruise the sti is always fun. I have my 4 tint windows. The car looks cool. But sometimes is hard to see at night. But i don't regret it hahaha 🤣🤣

Haha I know the feeling. I work shift work and leave my house at 0430 and I have an R400 on my STI and it's fucking llllooouuuudddd.

Please give it time to warm up, if oil isn’t flowing you are gonna have issues

wrong. Oil pressure is there within 1-2 seconds and is not going to normalize until the oil warms up, which happens by driving it gently until its hot.

How much did you pay for your car? And how much are yourr monthly payments and insurance costs?? Just curious.

Everything came out to just over $40k. $599/month. I'm not sure how much the insurance is off the top of my head, but I pay $1000 every 6 months for 5 cars.

@@CarModGuy yea I got my STI at the end of October 2018. Got it right around 40k. I was dumb and acted way too interested. I pay $725/Month. I'm almost 24 so my insurance is high as hell, about $400/month. 😬😤

Car Mod Guy nice! I’m looking for a DGM but dealership only has a black sti, haven’t seen it in person but what do u think of your black sti? I might just get that black one cuz there no DGM near me.

@@BTFLBEST I had a 2018 DGM WRX and the black is actually really nice. The flake in the paint is awesome. I actually prefer it to the DGM.

Aren’t you supposed to “warm up” these cars? I have a 18 STI and have been told to warm it up for 5 10 minutes every time .

That seems a little excessive. You really don't need more than 30 seconds even on a cold day to start driving the car. The 5-10 minutes is before you can start beating down on it. As long as you keep the revs low, you can drive it pretty much within a few seconds on a warm day.
