We have a T@B 400 BD Lite - upgraded in April 2019 from a T@B 320 CS-S. When she walked around to driver's side of the camper, the storage panel she mentions accesses the controls for the hotwater heater etc. The large circular panel by the side light is access to a built in sewer hose storage. It's connected to a large pvc pipe under the bed. The connection to flush the blackwater tank is new. You basically connect your dark hose here and keeping the grey/dark water lever open, you can flush the systems plus your sewer hose. The eating area is nice, under the table there is an AC plug plus two USB connectors. The table is heavy, about 25lbs so since we don't plan to use this area for extra sleeping space, we are going to replace the table with lighter weight material. When you read about the overall weight of the trailer, especially the tongue weight, you'll understand. The storage under the bed is deceiving in the video. When you open the center panel, you do have storage but that is also where the batteries and control system are. This area is a challenging to access when you have the bed made, so anything you keep here probably shouldn't be something you need access to all the time. You also want it relatively secure, so it doesn't bounce into the batteries and controls. By the bed, those two lights also have a blue setting which is nice if you need light but don't want to wake your partner. The TVs nuCamp install are not top of the line, so when we ordered ours we opted not to have a factory TV installed. nuCamp were great, they installed the wiring etc., but left out the TV. We had a 22" Smart TV from my daughter's college days that works great. When we travel, we have it laying flat on the bed. Our unit has a heat pump in addition to the Alde system. So, when connected to shore power we run either the A/C or heat. When we boondock and need heat, we would use the Alde heater that runs off the propane. The A/C unit is very efficient and very quite compared to the one in our 320 CS-S. We opted for the three-way fridge, so we lost the large storage closet but no regrets as we got a large fridge. Ours can run off AC, propane or the batteries though on batteries it's not the most efficient. For the bathroom, some initial concerns with the design but the wrap around shower curtain does work for keeping things dry. The key for the 400 is your tow vehicle. The trailer comes in at around 3600 lbs with a tongue weight close to 475lbs, so you need to know the towing capabilities of your vehicle before you pull the plug on the 400 BD.

Ordered ours; trading our 2018 T@B 320 CS-S for this 400 boodock model. We wanted a permanent bed and larger bathroom and still keep our clearance and ability to drive off-road a bit. Right after watching the video, we called our dealer in AL who had one in stock we could check out. Some folks might balk at the price, but we were looking at the Air Stream Nest but for almost double the money, I would be worried driving it anywhere off pavement - watched the video review and a number of components near the axle are low to the ground.

Several comments. I really like the look and construction of the Tab RVs and would be willing to pay more for one if they made some changes or offered a new slightly larger model, while keeping the weight down so the Jeep Cherokee with tow package can still easily tow it. The Tab 450 Boondock Edge sounds nice. :D If you have any influence I note several things. A: A model with a walk around bed, so that one partner does not have to crawl over the other to go to the bathroom at night. B: Move the Microwave down. Short people like my wife and yourself are put in danger taking out hot dishes with hands above your head. C: The only other thing would be a dry bath. Thanks.

@chaosncheckt93565 жыл бұрын
Gerard. Its the weight, as is the 400 BD lite is close to 3600lbs with a tongue weight of about 475. We pull ours with a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with a towing capacity of 6200 and rated tongue weight capacity of 620. I've read some folks make up the eating area into a second bed and the smaller of the couple sleeps there. As for the microwave, it's small and I mean college dorm small so we don't plan to use ours for anything except making popcorn for movie night. Hind sight being what it is, we would probably have opted not to have a micowave and use the area for additional storage. If you ever get the chance, you need to do a personal walk through of the 400. I think you would be impressed.
@gerardtrigo3805 жыл бұрын
@@chaosncheckt9356 Those printed weights can be deceptive. Look at Mandy's preparations for the Alaska to Mexico Trip. They got actual weights and if I remember correctly, both the loaded weight and the tongue weight was considerably less than in spec sheet. I am currently looking at a Coachmen Apex Nano 191RBS, which is in the same weight range, but has the features we desire, except I am not happy with the TPO roof.
@chaosncheckt93565 жыл бұрын
Gerard Trigo I think the larger storage box and dual propane may have started to push her 320’s tongue weight. My comments on weights are from the fact sheet but also from the t@b 400 forum under towing. In the end it comes down to what you can afford, the features you want, how you plan to use it and what you plan to tow it with.

That's a great question, and something I tell everyone going full time to think about. For us, it was important to be able to set-up camp somehwhere, unhitch, and have our car to drive around while our camper kept our site reserved. While vans are nice and a little more stealth, I would go crazy having to pack everything up just to go somewhere and then losing my campspot.

Finally, an interior design that is sleek and stylish. This look competes with European caravan styling and design, which I find, is often a bit more pleasing. Hi Gregory - oh yes you are right. It would be difficult for one person to move alone. Two people, however, can do it very easily. He took his camper in on warranty 4 times in the first year. We've towed ours 50k miles on some pretty rough roads in two years and have only had to tighten a few screws. Sometimes a product is worth the extra money... Also, with a larger camper comes the need for a larger tow vehicle. These weight under 2,700 pounds dry weight, which don't need a big truck to tow.

This also looks like a trailer that would hold up well. Easy tow, all the necessities, looks great, just need to find a local dealer and actually set in one. Way overpriced. That bathroom has wood throughout it. I would imagine that would rot and smell in no time. This camper doesn’t even look comfortable to sit in. It looks good, but for someone who needs one most of the year, it’s not ticking all the boxes and certainly not for that price.

Grey Line take an in person tour of the cheaper brands out there that are half the price and you’ll easily see how much the quality suffers. As for the wood, that’s why there’s a wrap around shower curtain.

Thanks Kodi for taking the time to clarify and set the record straight.

Somebody needs to share with NuCamp that the newer style is NOT dark colors but white.....plus, white opens up a smaller area.....giving it the open feel. Plus did somebody forget physics when they moved the air down under the seat.....heat rises, cool falls....not a smart move, but an even bigger problem is how will the air get up from under the bed when it is made up into the full size. I am now looking for a used one, vs a new one. Even NuCamp realized the worth of the lighter colors since the premium unit, Sofitel, was lighter, white colors. This is very disappointing, but maybe I can save some money by finding a nice used one.

Take a look at one in person, perhaps the video didn't show it properly. Although the cabinets are dark - EVERYTHING else is white now. They made the ceiling and walls white, so it is still very bright.

Great layout. Sadly the interior and exterior design is horrendous and kills it. They need to hire a creative right out of school who understands color, finishes and graphic design.

contact nuCamp direct and they are great about discussing color schemes. My didn't like any of the factory options offered by our dealer, so she called nuCamp, explained what she wanted (it was the Softel color package) and they said no problem.

@ has always meant "at" so the name of this trailer is T at B not tab! That said, I love these trailers but I will never buy one because of that misuse of the English language.Sorry.

Then I hope you never shop at places like Toys "R" Us, Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, or 7-Eleven... and never eat things like Dunkin' Donuts, Chic-fil-a, Froot Loops, Cheez Whiz, or Whataburger. It's just creative marketing, thinking outside the box.

Nice video but I have to ask why in the hell does T@B always fill the camper with crap then give you a tiny sub par bed? Kitchen? Ummm I have a gas grill and a smoker. Shower? Why? Make it an outdoor shower. I’m a long haul trucker with 30 years experience. I live on the road. Make a camper like the living area in a semi truck and everyone will be happy. More bed space and living area not cluttered with nonsense. More living space is far superior to crappy sleeping and a minuscule dining area that looks entirely too cramped.

The bed is huge - queen sized - and it's super comfy! And most people camping on the road appreciate storage, bathroom and a nice kitchen.

What makes you think that "everyone will be happy" with what YOU want? I've made up my mind that this is perfect for me after looking at 20-24'' travel trailers, and it's just me and my pit bull; I don't need a king sized bed, I'll have plenty of room at the dinette, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about when you say "cluttered with nonsense", and it HAS an outdoor shower, but I won't be using it when it's 20 degrees outside! I live in a 24' tiny house, and I have lots of unused space, so this will be perfect when I fully retire in the next couple of years. And when I drove ('72-86), I had a cabover with a sleeper; yes, it got me to Alaska, Florida, NY, and CA, and every state in between, but I had to eat, shower, shave, and shit in truck stops, so unless the "living area" in trucks today have kitchens and bathrooms, I have no idea what you're talking about. I think perhaps you've been on the road too long, dude!
