Love my 2019 RAV4. Had a 2002 RAV4 for 14 years. Went to 2016 Corolla because my 2002 RAV4 was hit and totaled. When the new design for RAV4 came out I had to get IT and loved it in the White with the black trim. Hope it last as long as my 2002 RAV4. Was considering the Hyundai Tucson but couldn’t resist the RAV. I like all the features on the base model, the speed is adequate and pick up is good when needed. Love the sit up high it has and the roominess of the inside. I believe people buy it for reliability vs the life of the party on the road of other vehicles. Maybe would have considered the CX5 due to the top speed and inside luxury look, but why not stay rugged with the RAV

Regarding the gap on the protective material - the AWD versions will have plastic Splash/Mud guards that would help deflect debris. I've seen others videos of RAV's that have them. While the gap would still be there at the rear wheel well, I don't think it will be much of an issue.

I have a 2019 Rav4 LE. The intermittent wipers are NOT adjustable...it's one setting only. And you have to turn the headlights on and off. There is no automatic headlight feature. Thanks Toyota....for taking me back to 1981. How can anyone make a car these days that doesn't have adjustable intermittent wipers and auto headlights? That's so basic I didn't think I needed to look for such a thing. I like my car, but disappointed in how Toyota cheaped out. Had I known, I would have purchased the next trim up. Honest to Gawd, in 2019, I really need to make sure a car has auto headlights and adjustable int wipers? Do I need to make sure it comes with a horn and an oil filter? Do I need to check to see if it has a radio?

Joshua Rutter yeah but the competition are killing it in the base models, and you can’t exactly count on the reliability here. It has the crappy 8 speed tranny from the Camry. No better than any of the competition. I suggest looking at the 2019 Santa Fe. Much more equipment for the price, it’s bigger and has a better warranty.
@davidarmstrong14214 жыл бұрын
@@thedavephan I had the 2019 Camry se 4 cylinder and yes that car was crappy from acceleration issues with hesitation and then I had an issue where one of my tires kept saying low on air but Toyota always says everything is fine 🙄. The exterior design looks a little better then the previous generation so sales should be good but it has the 8 speed from the Camry which has some issues. Good review but why defend this awkward looking "tacked on" touchscreen that's being forced on consumers? I'm not totally against it but it could have been designed to retract, fold or pivot when not in use or set in deeper into the dash so it would not be so noticeable. I was inside one of these at the local dealer and while exiting the vehicle observed the inner door handle was a long reach which could make exits tricky in bad weather conditions.
@cargueone19716 жыл бұрын
john h / 8 speed is fine. Though new for the Toyota division, Lexus has been using it for ten years. The problem is that the one in the Camry was programmed for economy and may be sluggish at times. There has been a software update.
@johnh70586 жыл бұрын
@@cargueone1971 I'm not sure what the software update is for because the Camry and this Rav4 both have Economy, Normal and Sport modes near the shifter. Sluggish shifting is not the only complaint with this 8 speed .

Bought the new 2020 LE version. Liked it until I got it home and found it lacked certain very basic features which cars have. Some folks might not care, I do. Stuff so simple you never think about it, never imagine they would be missing. I now hate this car more every day. I also contacted Toyota Corp. and asked if the traditional key blade only can be used to operate the vehicle without the attached electronics. (This is not the 'smart key' version). Toyota responded but refused to answer. That one thing tells me a lot about Toyota. Never buying one again.
