Got a 2020 Rav4 a little over a month ago XLE, in my region you only get the automated memory seats and sunroof with the highest trim. Its a wonderful vehicle, gets me out of traffic on the highway quite easily. Our engine is 2L not 2.5L. I bought it for comfort, reliability and to look really cool.. It ticks all those boxes easily... my other choice was a Tiguan, and the infotainment is wonderful in those, but the trade-off is future electrical issues.... I owned a Sentra before .. I want no more unforseen issues.

Those old-school reflector headlights look straight out of the 90’s. No projector headlights not even on the limited. Crazy if you ask me. And they didn’t even give us the little clips that hold the floor mats in place on the passenger side . What is going on, and no hood insulation. Lot of cost cutting indeed
@theconformist23995 жыл бұрын
Drivers nowadays want more and more technology on the inside of their cars. As Savagegeese (a technical car reviewer on KZbin) explains: that cuts into the overall budget of a car. Cuts are made, and technology on the inside is prioritized since customers would rather have high-tech than meaningful improvements to the suspension, headlights, etc. It's a trend with most modern, economy cars. Luxury cars don't suffer as much since they're not as bound to a low price ceiling.

I went by local dealer to check this SUV and they have tagged an additional 5K of all kind of miscellaneous charges to the list price of $35K, bringing the bottom price to $40K, one one the charges was listed as some like “market adjustment” for an additional $1.9K. The passenger seat did not even have power setting. I also found that the center console takes a lot space making it very uncomfortable and tight spot. I scratched this SUV from my wish list, my lease is up next March 2019. I drive a 2016 Lexus ES350 that had a sticker price of $42K three years ago!

Leasing is moronic
@hlcepeda6 жыл бұрын
Concerning "market adjustment", dealers add these on to cars that are new and potentially very popular. These fees take advantage of buyers' emotions. Only people who have money to burn or who must, must, must be the "first kid on the block" with the new toy, pay that ad-on fee. If you're not the "money to burn" guy and you want to save money, then it is worth waiting until November 2019 (earliest) and try for the RAV4. Dealers with any still stuck on the lot will be anxious to unload those so they can make space on their lot for the 2020 vehicles. Read these: jalopnik.com/how-can-i-avoid-dealer-markup-on-a-hot-new-car-1760064891 www.consumerreports.org/car-pricing-negotiation/guide-to-car-pricing-terms/ www.scam-detector.com/article/market-adjustment-fee

I just can't get over the price of these for what you get. CX 5 and Tuscon are more appealing and a better value.
@franman97316 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I agree. The price does suck. But in reality they all about come to the same price when you start adding on the packages and features that you want. It seems like the manufacturers know just what items to not include on one model or equipment package and make you step it up to the next level(costing you thousands more). I was always a Mazda fan(I have owned several of them), but I am not sure what kind of measuring they did with the CX5's interior dimensions that they state. They just don't add up. Go sit in one and especially in the rear seat, you will feel like you are crammed in there. I went with the Tucson in 2016 when the newer style came out. It just feels more open and you have more room to move in it. The turbo is nice, but the DCT is kind of quirky. The newer Tucson has no turbo, and still no increase in cargo room, which has me leaning more towards one of these Rav4's. If cargo room and rear seat area is no concern for you, I would go for the CX5.
@Blitzburgh176 жыл бұрын
@@franman9731 CX 5 room didn't bother me for what I need and the 18s are a nice deal now with the 19 out if you don't care for the turbo. The 19 Tuscon though I can get with heated wheel seats and ventilated seats, charge pad, all the safety tech and 360 cam, panoramic sunroof, android auto and upgraded sound system for around 30K. To get the same in the 19 Rav i'd be pushing 40K
@Blitzburgh176 жыл бұрын
Oh and the Tuscon comes with a better warranty and 3 years of the app to control the car, the Rav only has 6 months I believe and you have to pay after
@franman97316 жыл бұрын
@@Blitzburgh17 under 30 is not bad. Around here you are looking probably low 30's for those features on a Tucson.Yeah. It really depends on your situation. Tucson is getting too small for me in regards to the cargo area. I didn't think it would bother me until my wife got a brand new Honda CR-V. The room and cargo area is just night and day compared to my Tucson. Plus hauling my kid and luggage on trips in the summer, the more room and refined ride of the Honda is awesome.

I may be in the minority - but, while I don’t think they completely dropped the ball here, I think they came close. I’m sure it will still sell well because of its name but I’m not a big fan of this redesign. Especially not a fan of the fit and finish even on the highest trim.
