Just a head's up to my friends . I bought this Volvo in March and was never told it has tires that CAN NOT be repaired. You see there is foam in the tire to make it a quiet ride. So when I had a slow leak in one of my tires I paid 270 dollars for a new tire. Then I had to go back and pay 600 dollars more for the tire coverage and was insulted by them saying that I should have bought the tire coverage in the first place. I told them no one ever told me that these tires were unrepairable and they said "Sorry". This is a leased car and I have it approx 5 months. Now I still have to wait 45 days for this to take affect so my car will probably sit in the driveway for most of the duration. Thanks Volvo

We just bought a 2020 XC60 T5 Momentum for the wife a couple of days ago, and she loves it, and so do I. For those of you that are considering other makes besides Volvo, the wife's previous vehicle was Mercedes Benz (our third MB) and we shopped the Lexus NX, Acura RDX, Cadillac XT, the brand new Lincoln Corsair and Mercedes GLC. Volvo wasn't even on our radar when we were out shopping and we decided to stop at a Volvo dealer on our way to another brand. Needless to say, after test driving and closely examining the XC 60 both of us were sold. If you are like us that never considered Volvo before, do a yourself a big favor and check out what Volvo has to offer. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. And if matters, the current Volvo XC60 being sold in the U.S is made in Sweden, not China.

While this Kelley Blue Book representative may enjoy the XC 60's ride, they sure won't give it plus marks on resale or trade-in value. In fact, many luxury segment vehicles do poorly when it comes time to trade up. Which begs the question. Why does Kelley test drive vehicles in the first place?

Todd Medium Wellington III they do, it’s called the S60 lol. I wouldn’t really say it competes though as it hasn’t been re-designed in 8 years. Just a minor refresh. The new wagon version (V60) was just leaked, so it’ll look pretty similar to that.

I hate fingerprints, digit snot!!!!!! Witch is why ALL touchscreen vehicles should also have a mouse on the console such as Mercedes and BMW. Since I'll never afford a Mercedes or BMW, my solution to avoid any fingerprints on my 2017 VW Jetta touchscreen is to use a pen type stylus for an iPad. It works great.

After driving this compact SUV and the Acura RDX (which I prefer to the XC60) I will buy a 2019 Mazda CX 5 Grand Touring Reserve or Signature for its 2.5 L. turbo engine's torque and decent speed (6.4 sec. 1 to 60 mph.), the excellent handling and sumptuous package of luxury/safety features. The beautifully styled 2019 CX 5 sells for between $34,000. for the GT Reserve to $36,000. for the Signature ("street prices"). Drive one of these top two CX 5 models and you will be impressed. All this and a "Top Safety Pick" from the IIHS and top ranking from the US government NHTSA

Probably 10 years or 100k miles. The rubber seals degrade with age and will leak. Same with regular gas charged shocks and struts.

Went to drive x60 yesterday. $)1(54k with the options that fit what I’m looking for. Discounted to $49k there r some very notable but undisclosed reviewed issues with Volvo’s in all the lineup. In comparing this to the new 2020 X3 and several others in the class the Volvo seats are not anywhere near as comfortable which really surprised me . Looks r deceiving on these. The Nappa leather optional seats are horrifically bad. Bolsters cut into your sides on every car and at 6’1 and 187 lbs. i have no issues with others. The steering although quick to respond is vague especially after driving the new X3. When hitting bumps in the road the X60 is Jarring instead of soaking up the road. Not exactly what i was expecting. Room in the car is good in the front and second row. Infotainment is a major upgrade and responsive. I liked the infotainment except for what all these reviewers seem to ignore. The voice activation requires very specify instructions as does Mercedes and several others. And it DOESN’T work but we’re paying for. I pointed out to the salesman who was very honest after many attempts to get it to navigate to the dealer. The response is what I’ve heard from Mercedes (MBUX finally fixed hat however u need very specific instructions still) Porsche, (now fixed finally), Lexus and Audi. Answer-bypass the system your paying for and use Apple car play. Except one issue which is why i don’t even use it, u have no voice recognition to your phone now. A complaint I’ve registered to BMW. Again paying for car play yet it won’t integrate. BMW now charges after the first year for Apple car play. Umm no thanks BMW voice recognition in comparison is miles ahead of Volvo and the others. Just tell it where u want to go and navigation takes u. Isn’t that what everyone is paying for and expecting? Yet no reviewer (Hello Kelly Blue book) even addresses it negating the point of a review. The other issue is the flimsy, cheap plastic on the center column. For a $50k car? I’m not a fan of the strange and smaller steering wheel that has a hard feel. I could deal with it though for the right value in comparison to the comp. The engine is ok but not to the standard of the GLE or X3 regardless of all these glowing reviews. Sport mode helps the Volvo but it lacks the smoothness of most the competition except the Audi and Rovers. I’d take the Volvo over those for sure. Overall the X60 is a nice vehicle. There r some important trade off though in comparison to the GLE, RX and X3. The Acura MDX becomes an interesting value proposition too. In order to get similar room in a Porsche it requires a Cayenne. Priced way out of the competition. Even the Macan is pricey for what u get and that’s a great vehicle. I’m looking at value which is why i even considered a Volvo given its well documented reliability issues out of the factory. I lease cars or buy Pre certified and drive them 2 years. I don’t need my wife (this would be her car) to be going back and fourth with constant issues which has me hesitant with Volvo. Same goes for the Range Rover product. That brings me to price on a lease. Came out to a bit over $600 a month with some wriggle room but money factor is high. A GLE is in the $800’s. Mercedes has lost its mind so I’ll pass. Rovers, u could get into a Discovery for about under $700 but the Velar is over $800. That’s a pass. Lexus RX becomes a good value at around $500. The X3 however is in the high $400’s to low $500’s depends on what u put in it. Audi (which I’d never lease again) is in the mid $500’s. All similarly equipped with the same terms signing. The Volvo which should be the value play here since it’s a notch below several of the other brands is higher in price with several basic issues that r a clear drawback ( uncomfortable seats, voice control that doesn’t work, cheap plastic in the center stack, jarring ride on every bump and odd steering wheel) is simply overpriced. You’re getting less car for more money. That comes down to programs and finance rates. Residual is fine but like all the other besides Lexus depreciates fast. Lexus and the BMW X3 become the better value and overall comfort/driving clear winners. I was told Volvo will be coming with better programs in December so I’d say if you can put up with the deficiencies of the Volvo that at around $450 a month might make me move to them. The seats comfort is something I’m really going to have to spend sometime with first before making a final decision though. I don’t like the rest of the car at all but that’s subjective. The taillights look ridiculous. It seems like this review car buyers have to go look for themselves and compare. The reviewers like this one don’t provide full disclosure.

My 2019 XC60 (less than 6 months old) has been in the shop 11 business days for service issues. 12V charge error, EV emissions Error, Hose Replacements, Audio Module Replacement and Recall.
